Thanks for making the thread!
I think it's an 18-member cohort and they interview 96, so around 19%? There is some waitlist movement afaik thoughIs there a post II rate for PRIME?

thanks for making this thread!! Wishing everyone the best of luck ❤️🍀
Yes, I think it's around 19% like @xxpremedxx said! They accept just enough students to fill the 19ish seats, and there might be some waitlist movement as people withdraw their acceptances. Rooting for us all! 🙌Is there a post II rate for PRIME?

Wait how do you know they interview 96? Also they don't over-admit at all?
They still have PRIME full rides right
yes, multiple scholarships were mentioned on interview day.Wait how do you know they interview 96? Also they don't over-admit at all?

They told us on interview day that there’s 32 people per day and there’s 3 interview days. Also, Dr Moreno said very little waitlist movement unfortunately. Not sure if they over admit thoughWait how do you know they interview 96? Also they don't over-admit at all?

Yeah, I knew WL movement was limited, but I had assumed they overadmit, so I was just curious where @lotusflwr got that info from. Is this everyones top choice, and did yall interview w/ Traditional MD too? I'm guessing the yield is pretty high since they only interview very mission aligned people.

I only interviewed for PRIME but it's def my top choice!! But tbh I'm just so grateful to have received an interview I feel like overall it was a really great interview process 🥹Yeah, I knew WL movement was limited, but I had assumed they overadmit, so I was just curious where @lotusflwr got that info from. I think they mentioned on interview day as well, but I also spoke with some current students who confirmed that PRIME does not overadmitYeah, I knew WL movement was limited, but I had assumed they overadmit, so I was just curious where @lotusflwr got that info from. Thanks for the source on the 96!

definitely my top choice!! I can't imagine getting through medical school without a close-knit community like PRIME offers. I interviewed with trad as well and would love to know more about UHEP from the current student perspective. Has anyone heard anything about UHEP or how the cohort culture might be similar/different from PRIME?Yeah, I knew WL movement was limited, but I had assumed they overadmit, so I was just curious where @lotusflwr got that info from. I've heard UHEP is similar, but generally a bit less tight knit / work together at all times than PRIME. I've heard UHEP students still feel closer to DGSOM Trad MD students than PRIME students, but the program sounds really cool. This is from my n = 1 friend, but he seems to enjoy UHEP.definitely my top choice!! I can't imagine getting through medical school without a close-knit community like PRIME offers. If you’re referring to full ride scholarships, no. They only give you $20k PRIME scholarship per year and then tuitions & fees waived for masters year. I have a friend in PRIME LA tell me that they’re interviewed more candidates this year because they anticipate more students turning down the spot in favor of other schools that give better funding like Kaiser or UCSF.Wait how do you know they interview 96? so do you know if they anticipate admitting more people than a typical year? Apparently they don't over-accept. so they're just trying to have a large WL? Is this due to the BBB changes?
I wonder if the same is true for Trad MD also, just wanna get in at DGSOM one way or the other, tho ofc, PRIME sounds awesome
This is true, although some folks receive other institutional scholarships on top of the usual PRIME package. I think admitted PRIME students are also under consideration for Leaders of Tomorrow (merit-based full tuition scholarship) and LA Cares (merit-based full-ride scholarship). If you’re referring to full ride scholarships, no. How many applicants does Prime LA get?

From what Dr. Moreno said, the WL is very very short, so they may slightly overaccept based on yield percent data from past yearsso do you know if they anticipate admitting more people than a typical year? Very stressed. Just hoping it comes soon, do we know when As will come out for PRIME. As for self care, I am not taking care of myself at all and just dying from the stress. Is anyone else feeling stressed by all the waiting and uncertainty? How are you taking care of yourselves during this time?
Same same. Hang in there! They said we should know by late Feb - early March. It looks like acceptances usually drop around the middle of the last week of February based on past SDN threads (2/25ish). Usually there is a day or two of acceptance calls followed by waitlist emails the next day and then rejections drop on the last day (or weeks later).Very stressed. How do we know it's next week omg, did they announce or historical trends??Hi! How are we feeling a week out from decisions?
Historical trends but they did say end of February likely (early march at latest). Historically A's drop around the middle of the last week of FebHow do we know it's next week omg, did they announce or historical trends??

I don’t know why they’re delaying, but if I had to guess it’s because they interviewed way more people this year. They’re anticipating more people declining the acceptance because they have a crappy fin aid package. Literally only the $20k PRIME LA scholarship a year, no need based aid, and also constraints of the BBB. Unless you’re one of the lucky LA cares or leaders of tomorrow scholarship winners, a lot of people are going to be choosing cheaper schools.Oh that’s a delay from late February 🙁 Do you know why they’re delaying? Thanks for sharing!
Edit: sorry if my response sounded aggressive, but PRIME LA was one of my dream choices, and I’m just upset that I may have to choose another school even if I do get accepted, because I’m a FGLI student with a crappy credit score and may not be able to afford this program. 🙁
I really feel you on this! The fear of figuring out how to afford everything is settling in hard. I think the master's year is a full ride year, right? I'm thinking that if we are awarded funding by a master's program then that full ride year PRIME stipend could really help offset costs for the other four years + the 20k/yearI don’t know why they’re delaying, but if I had to guess it’s because they interviewed way more people this year. Didn’t sound aggressive at all - thanks for responding <3 I’m also in the same boat, and I’m really scared because UCLA is so expensive and taking out half a million dollars in loans (I’m also FGLI) is the scariest thing to me everI don’t know why they’re delaying, but if I had to guess it’s because they interviewed way more people this year. Hi! I think the PRIME year is tuition + fees for the masters and the $20k stipend! I don’t know how much living expenses would be, but basically the PRIME year would basically be free. I think I’m more worried about how to pay for the other 4 years of medical education with only a $20k scholarship. Manifesting that David Geffen donates another 40 million dollars real soon lol.I really feel you on this! The fear of figuring out how to afford everything is settling in hard. Yes manifesting more 💸as well! I was suggesting that many PRIME students get fully funded by their master's program and then all of the PRIME year funding becomes a stipend that can help pay down outstanding expenses for the other years. I get how that's a risk though and not a guarantee!Hi! I think the PRIME year is tuition + fees for the masters and the $20k stipend! Ohhh I see what you mean now!! Yes, def a good option to consider for accepted students. I hope everyone gets blessed with scholarships here, because if you were a PRIME LA interviewee, we need more doctors like you and that are for the community!!🫶Yes manifesting more 💸as well! Conrgats everyone! Does this mean we didn't get in if we didn't hear? Also, how does it work if we are in consideration for PRIME and Trad MD? Can we still get in trad MD if we didnt get in here, I'm guessing many PRIME applicants myself included also prefer PRIME, so can we stay on a PRIME WL
