Just a reminder that wayne doesn’t exactly review in order or might save some apps for later. I submitted my secondary on 7/8 last year and got my II on 11/8, no updates sent. You just get an email that they received your secondary materials, be prepared for a bunch of newsletters and random emails though
 
For anyone who has received an II, what are the exact timings for an AM vs PM slot? I booked PM, but it does not show any specific time slot.
 
Did anyone have their interview yesterday? Was it stressful or pretty chill? I know you probably signed a non-disclosure, so don't want to know specifics just general lol. Mine is next week and I'm super nervous, it will be my first.

Very straightforward and chill. There were no 'out of nowhere' questions, and both the physician interviewers and student interviewers were very nice. MMI's if I remember correctly were all what would you do in this situation type questions.

OOS II! Does anyone know if Wayne State sends out acceptances before October 15th if you are RD? Interview scheduled this month and am wondering when we can expect to hear back.

They’re not allowed to give out RD decisions before 10/15 per AMCAS guidelines
 
Any internationals/canadians who did not go to Wayne state get an II?

    08/06: Submitted and completed secondary application
    08/13: Received rejection

    Did everyone else receive text messages like this?

    "Hi from Wayne State School of Medicine! We encourage you to submit a secondary application! Questions? Email us at [email protected]. Reply STOP to end?"

As with any rejection, I felt discouraged. I was also left wondering whether my application was fully reviewed and what factors influenced their decision. It is challenging not knowing how these decisions are made, and I am curious to hear if others have had similar experiences.

Weird. I never got any texts from them. Although I’m suspecting a system screened you out as all schools likely do before human review. I’d just reach out and ask what the factors were due to a quick turnaround. I say this because I submitted my secondary right around you and haven’t heard a word.
 
The circumstances that could warrant a fast rejection were already disclosed in my primary application. I can’t help but wonder if they’re screening me out simply because I used Grammarly or other AI tools to proofread my secondary essays. Either way, their behavior seems erratic — lovebombing followed by instant rejection, with a narrow and inflexible admissions scope. I won’t be reapplying; it honestly felt like they set a trap for an emotional reaction.

Maybe try calling them to see why they rejected you so quickly? They should be able to explain, or maybe even if it was a mistake
