Interesting. Their secondary is on the stricter side and prohibits the use of AI. I think the paragraphs after AI edits could trigger flags in AI detectors. Have you noticed different wording around AI usage across medical school secondaries? If schools take those policies literally, then technically any use of AI could be grounds for immediate rejection, since some words are generated by AI. What kind of AI tools do you use to get around AI detectors?

Maybe they rejected me for another reason. Man, if all schools could just reject me that swiftly, maybe I could quickly move on to another career. Enough of this: “Please complete the secondary so we can be your first rejection of the cycle.” lol

I'm sure it can't be because you used AI tools to proofread - this is permitted by AAMC and most people are doing that lol (including me).

If you copy and paste your own work from open.AI into the workspaces maybe it could get flagged. That’s why people say use a google doc as a middle man

Did anyone else get rejected from Wayne? Am I their first rejection of the cycle?

Was it like

"Thank you for applying to Wayne State University School of Medicine and sharing your achievements and accomplishments. It is a privilege to review your application. One of the most important and challenging decisions we make is selecting candidates. I regret to inform you the admissions committee will not be further considering your candidacy for admission in the 2026 application cycle. We wish you fulfillment in your future endeavors and best wishes for a successful career." ?

Most people use AI for their secondaries so I don't think that is the reason you got rejected. Do you have any IA, criminal record, or very low mcat/gpa?

Aren't these covered in the primary application? Why was Wayne sending me emails and text messages asking me to submit their secondary?
Some schools screen stats to give secondaries, then start reviewing everything together when primary + secondary are submitted. So, if they did see a red flag, it might have been when your application was complete. Someone isn't being transparent here and blaming it on AI.

I don’t think the interview invitation count is going to go up for now on the site. I think it may be the amount of invites they will send for now and the interview invitations are going to add up to that number.

No, they just have not updated the website yet. They usually take about a week to do so.

Pretty sure most schools interview high stats first then later on in the cycle they start offering interviews for lower stats
I was a just a bit concerned since my LM was 74 and I saw people around that score who submitted later get IIs. But yeah who knows how they're doing it.

Yeah I know, I know. But like a part of me always wondering why I didn't get an II now when others are and what that means for my application. Really need to go touch some grass.
Someone from last year's cycle posted here a while ago that they were complete early July but received an II in November I believe. Things just take time. I was complete July 3rd and have not heard anything yet so I get it! They do holistic reviews so even if you don't feel super confident, don't count yourself out just yet. 😊
