21AA but 16 on the PAT. Should I retake?

I called UMD which is my state school to ask whether I would be cut-off, and they said no. I can reschedule a retake in late July. The biggest problem is that I need to go to my spouse, who lives abroad (there are no prometric centers there) and stay with him by mid-summer at the latest.

What do I do? Help.

dont retake, PAT is important for a lot of schools, but others disregard it/dont put much emphasis on it. call the schools your thinking of applying to. but ur set i think

Wow! Thanks. I've decided not to retake and work with what I have.
I'd like to add:
Creighton, Tufts and University of the Pacific seem to be one of the few schools that have cut offs of PAT at 17 or so. Most of the other have cutoffs at 14-16.

I hear you OP, I'm in the same predicament. Did well on everything BUT one of the easier sections...

PA: 17 (I didn't pay attention to time and guessed on EVERY single question of the last section. fml.)

My GPA isn't too hot (3.40), so I was hoping to offset it with a great DAT, but I'm worried about my PAT section. I don't think I'm going to retake either, but I REALLY hope the 17 doesnt hurt me too much. Best of luck to you too.

My friend that is in my Dental lab technician classes this year has a 3.9 overall a 4.0 science, had 27-28's on his AA and he had a 16 PAT, he didn't get in last year. He got in this year during our Lab tech school since he retook it and scored a 21 on the PAT. So its up to you.

I'd be interested to see how many schools he applied to. That's bizarre. I guess some schools have the 17 cut off thing, but still that's absolutely crazy.

I am in the retake boat only because I got a 14 on QR first time around. I wouldn't retake for a 16.

Your lab tech friend is either a prodigy or you are exaggerating a bit. Maybe he decided to take the lab tech class to improve his pat.
