Hi
I am start feeling bit down and sad on not getting any pre-december interview yet from 8 schools applied.
I have
23 AA
23 TS
20 PAT
3.7 overall and science GPA from top undergraduate known for grade deflation.
To give a bit of perspective, all my friends from school have 23+ AA on DAT and few even have 25 AA+.
I definitely put so much effort on my essay as well as I have spent like 3 months editing them constantly.
Almost 2 years dental intern
Lots of school-related extracurricular w/ some leadership roles. Lots of tutoring-related activity & Sports-involvement (at the club level).
Schools applied:UCLA, UCSF, UOP, USC, Western,Tuft, Penn, -> all submitted late August (application confirmation email received early September and I also submitted Case Western bit late (late September). I may consider applying more school just to increase the chance.
But anyone out there can give me any perspectives on my situation?

I submitted early July, and the schools that we have in common have yet to contact me.
You submitted late August so I'm not surprised by your situation at all.

Oh thank you so much for your reply. I feel relived haha. I noticed that these school have not sent out much (maybe except Penn). Wish the best of luck for both of us!🙂

It's difficult to get an interview invite from UCLA if you're OOS. UCSF screens applicants for more than just numbers. Many people were rejected from UCSF with high stats like yours. However, I think the main reason that you have yet to receive interview invites is that you applied in late August. You'll probably get some soon.

Thank you very much. I am a CA applicant🙂

I have a family friend who is currently a Berkeley senior who has ~3.8 and 25 AA but she only received one interview invite so far as well. So pretty sure you just have to wait some more!

Thank you for sharing with me! Definitely relieved that I am not the only one. I am so happy for your family friend and my classmate 😉. I am very sure she will do great at any dental school🙂

You'll be fine. you just applied a later than most of the schools sent their first waves of interviews. I'd personally recommend adding 2 schools before deadlines end. Just to chill a bit. but you got crazy stats.

Don't worry my (wo)man! Just like Artist said, we all in the same boat. Hang in there!

I applied to all the schools you have plus more, and have only heard back from one! (MWU AZ). Hang in there, you're not alone!! @I-hate-alginate and I are in the same exact boat, with very similar stats to yours lol STAY POSITIVE :soexcited:
One interview with your stats? That's crazy..

Like everyone else has said, you need to continue to wait.. they will review your application and you will likely receive one of the later pre-December interview slots.

Best of luck

How are your extracurriculars?

I did not specify too much in details but this plus many translation and interpreter work (I am bilingual) 🙂

Please tell me you don't go to Stanford 😉. I wouldn't set my heart on UCSF/UCLA. UCLA at least seems consistent (from what I've seen on SDN). UCSF rejects applicants with insane stats all the time. USC and Tufts are good backups. UoP will like your DAT. I'm surprised you applied to Penn but not Columbia.

Unless there's a red flag in your app, I would be shocked if you didn't get an interview at USC. There's still plenty of time in the cycle.

I think the OP has a pretty good chance at UCLA. He pretty much has the average scores and GPA of the people who were ACCEPTED into UCLA last year...

I applied at around the same time as you and with slightly higher stats and got rejected from UCLA, UCSF, and Western (among the schools you listed). Granted, I am not a CA resident so you will have a much better shot than I did. Keep us posted and good luck!

Cool thank you. I am currently a senior and I didnt have much time to find the 3rd science professor recommendation letter required from Columbia🙁 Maybe if I dont get in any school this cycle, I will find the third one and reapply🙂

Well USC has not started sending invites to anyone
and Western specifically told us during our saturday interview that the people here are the people who applied very early. so the next batch would be people like you who are a little late.
your deff gonna get in somewhere with those numbers man.
