Ok so let me break this down.
-Bio Major at a school in Florida. Gpa 2.85
- Was advised to do non degree post bacc. Took a job to pay for it and working 40 hrs and school was too much. Didn't do well.
- Was given the option to do a second degree in Neuroscience and Behavior (these classes would count in my sGpa)
-SMP at my undergrad university was looked at and deemed a great program academically and feeds into the med school if you maintain a good gpa.
-my LOR's, extracurriculars are good. I've gotten the thumbs up from med schools teachers and admissions staff on that so I'm not worried.
I've looked at other schools like that as well (in an out Florida) and I like the approach. The mcat score for those programs is something I have but the gpa is not. So my question is, will that route work? I am NOT applying directly for med school. With my gpa I'd be foolish to do that so I think the SMP route might be good for me. With this route I can money to pay for school so I can quit my job and beast it. I am going to retake my Mcat as well.
