2nd yr = humbling yr

i'm in 2nd yr & i just got the results back from my third anatomy test.
i feel like such a fool.
I spent a whole weekend studying for it - and my results were utter crap!
I used to be the kind of person who looked @ other ppl failing & shrugged it off as their laziness and therefore their fault.
now i just don't know what to do.
i know other students are going through the same crisis as i am... but that doesn't help. I've tried every study method i know & nothing seems to be working. help!

what school is this? why r u taking anatomy 2nd yr? i thought all med schools teach anatomy 1st yr.

The OP's location says South Africa so I'm going to assume they have a different system than ours. 🙂

yeah KyGrlDr2B.
we dont do premed - instead our MBBCh degree is 6yrs long. the first two yrs are theory etc, last 4yrs are more practical. Anatomy's a full year course in 2nd yr and the year ends in about a month - after that End Yr exams & armageddon...
i still do need help...- pls give it! (thanks 4 the sympathy, tho)

just 1 more comment,... if u think 2nd yr is humbling, just wait til u r a M3.. u think u know path & HPI & all this and all that, .. just wait til those attendings and residents start crushin down on u w their pimpin and humiliation .. hehe

I was just going to say the same thing. I thought I knew something before I was an MS-III, and now I realize that I know nothing. Attendings have a way of making you realize how dumb you really are! 😀

I'll third that one. Sometimes I feel as though the last 2 years never happened, because I never seem to be able to remember my path/pathophys/whatever when I'm asked by the residents or attendings!
