Has anyone passed the KCU secondary screen with ~3.24 for one of their gpas (or anything below 3.25)? [Their stated minimum is 3.25]
I thought I had 3.26 for my cGPA but it turns out I miscalculated and it is actually 3.243

I have a pretty good MCAT if that matters

KCU was one of my top choices and I've already submitted X(
I was thinking about taking a class quickly and getting my gpa past their threshold but I don't know if it is worth it because I have so much going on.

If I take a 1 credit course and get an A -> 3.249
2 credit -> 3.255
3 credit -> 3.26

It's really a crapshoot if you look at last years thread. They seem to have a 2/3 rule but that's pure speculation. If your science gpa is above a 3.25 and your mcat is solid (as you said) then I think that you'll be ok.

Gl!

Thank you!
I was kinda panicing. I'm happy that it hasn't completely cut off KCU 🙂

I can confirm the 2/3 rule since my VR was below a 7 (my score was above a 24 MCAT) and both GPAs were above 3.25. I still received a secondary. However, my scenario doesn't apply to OP though.

Yep 2/3 rule sounds right for their screen.

So in theory for you OP you'll need a 24+ MCAT and sub scores above a 7 if your GPA is below 3.25.

Thanks!

My MCAT is good enough, I have a 30+ score with my lowest sub score= 9
My sGPA is barely above cutoff = 3.268,
cGPA= 3.243

I'm still not convinced I'll get in but its worth a shot

[It can be so discouraging when you read old school specific threads and see that people with higher stats than you are getting rejecting pre and post secondary :/ ]

I think you'll get in for sure!!! PM me or any of the other people in the c/o 2019 if you need tips regarding the secondary or interview!

OMG Thanks! I will definitely take you up on that 🙂

Is this a repost? Someone asked this question a couple of days ago and several people responded that their stats were below the 3.25 cutoff, but still went forward.

Either way, good luck. KCUMB is my top choice too.

My original post was in pre-DO, a moderator recommended I re-post it in the Osteopathic section. Then that thread (this one) got moved back to pre-DO.
So thats why it seems like it was double posted

Good luck to you too 🙂
