Hey all. I am planning on applying to MD this 2018-2019 cycle, and also interested in some MD/MPH programs. If anyone is willing, please critique my school list. I am fully aware I am a mediocre applicant, but I am also retaking the MCAT June 29th in hopes of reducing that mediocrity. It doesn't help that I'm a CA resident either, but hey, there's always a chance right?

Southern Illinois admitted only 1 non resident last year, Texas Rio Grande 5. Morehouse accepts mainly URM. This is a more realistic list:

California University (new school)
Loma Linda
California Northstate

The GPA-MCAT grid shows you have only a 50% chance for a MD acceptance. I suggest you apply to at least 10 DO schools also.

As stated above, definitely apply DO and get an MSAR so you know which state schools are or are not out of state friendly.

On a quick glance, also add UCF (OOS friendly) and U of Miami. Maybe try University of Colorado and the U of Arizonas as well since you are in a bordering state
