Would like to apply to MD/MBA programs, so my school list is mainly made up of
  • CA schools
  • MD/MBA schools
  • Historical Black Universities (HBU)
  • NY Schools (strong state ties)
  • Other schools I have heard were kind to CA residents.

I would like to trim my list down to 30 schools.

CA Schools (6)
  1. UC San Diego (alma mater)
  2. UCLA (MD/MBA)
  3. UC Riverside (MD/MBA, New school)
  4. USC (MD/MBA)
  5. UC Irvine (MD/MBA)
  6. UC Davis (MD/MBA)
Historic Black Universities (HBU) (3)
  1. Howard (MD/MBA)
  2. Meharry
  3. Morehouse
NY Schools (6)
  1. Albany Medical School
  2. Albert Einstein
  3. State University of New York (SUNY) Buffalo
  4. SUNY Downstate
  5. SUNY Stony Brook
  6. SUNY Upstate

Total = 16

Other schools (30)
  1. Arizona - Phoenix
  2. Arizona -Tuscon
  3. Boston University
  4. Cincinnati (OH)
  5. Drexel
  6. Eastern Virginia
  7. Emory
  8. George Washington
  9. Georgetown
  10. Hofstra
  11. Jefferson
  12. Loyola U of Chicago
  13. Louisville
  14. Medical College of Wisconsin
  15. NY Medical College
  16. Oakland University Beaumont
  17. Rosalind Franklin University
  18. Rush
  19. Temple
  20. Toledo
  21. Tufts
  22. Tulane
  23. U of Connecticut
  24. U of Vermont
  25. Virginia Commonwealth
  26. Virginia Tech
  27. Wake Forest
  28. Wright State
  29. U of Illinois
  30. NJ Medical School
So, in an ideal world I would cut my list of "other schools" down from 30 to 15, but I am not really sure how to go about picking schools to take off, considering my CA residency, URM status, as well as my below-average stats.

If anyone could help me either eliminate, or add other good schools, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Score a 27 or above if you are URM.

Your MCAT will determine which schools to apply to. Just by knee-jerk reaction, I would pick NYMC, Tulane, Temple, and Drexel. Kinda depends on where you want to live and what you're looking for in a school, though. Also MCAT.
