Hi there! Here are my stats as followed by my current school list-

  3. NY resident (Long Island specifically if that's important?)
  4. Caucasian, F
  5. UG private research university, also a co-op school - Health Science Major
  6. Clinical experience: (2000+ hrs)
    1. hospital volunteer in vascular surgery - helped to spend time with patients, upkeep the floor, make sure charts were appropriately kept
    2. children's hospital volunteer - my second job is a children's entertainment as a clown. A few times a month I donate my time to local children's hospitals and cancer centers
    3. medical scribe - over 2000 hrs across Orthopedics, Pulmonology, Plastic Surgery, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Cardiothoracic, ENT
  7. Research experience and productivity (10 hrs)
    1. Studied access to healthcare in an urban area. I know this is a super low number, but I support myself between 2 jobs and could not handle a 3rd. C'est la vie.
  8. Shadowing experience and specialties represented
    1. Shadowed in all specialties mentioned above before scribing (~200 hrs)
  9. Non-clinical volunteering (~300 hrs)

    5. worked freelance graphic design throughout UG
  11. Anything else not listed you think might be important
    1. I finished my UG coursework in 2.5 years and graduated early. Not sure if this is good or bad?
    2. deans list with a very strong upward trend in coursework
    3. 5 strong LOR, 1 glowing from an MD, 3 from UG professors, and 1 from my clown boss which is very personal and ties everything together nicely.

Here is my current school list, please be as brutal as needed. I am fully self supporting so please tell me if I'm throwing away money by applying to any of these schools. Also suggest anything you think I'm missing!!! Trying to stay close-ish to NY (not a plane ride).

Dartmouth, Tufts and Maryland are unrealistic reaches with your MCAT. I suggest adding these schools:
Vermont
NOVA MD
Oakland Beaumont
Wayne State
Medical College Wisconsin
Rosalind Franklin
Creighton
TCU-UNT
Loma Linda
Also add more DO schools such as MU-COM, LECOM (all schools), VCOM (all 3 schools).

Noted. What do you think about adding Hofstra in? Not sure if there’s an instate/location preference there

You need to be realistic with your MD choices, I see way to many "far reaches". Consider Faha's list for a more realistic school list. You should be aiming for all low tier MD schools as that is where your MCAT will give you a chance. Also consider adding DMU and KCU for DO schools, they have very good reputations.
