Can anyone help give me some advice on whether I should retake the MCAT. I recognize that it is probably the biggest red flag of my application, but not sure if I would should retake the MCAT. I am an ORM with 1 state school in my state. If I dont retake the MCAT, are there any schools that would give me a serious consideration?

  1. 3.90 GPA, 3.89 sGPA
  2. 505 MCAT
  3. 1 published paper, 2-3 abstracts submitted
  4. Founder and president of a research club on college campus
  5. 1 full year as a clinical research coordinator (1000 hours)
  6. 3 summers of medical scribing (1000 hours)
  7. Shadowed 3 different physicians (200 hours)

MCAT is a bit low, so are there other impactful experiences that provide context? You are good for DO programs so PCOM, LECOM, and NYCOM at least.

With zero hours of non clinical volunteering and a MCAT of 505 there are no MD schools where you are competitive. You should accumulate 150+ hours in activities such as food bank, homeless shelter, etc. before you submit your application. You could receive interviews at DO schools and I suggest these:
CUSOM
WVSOM
PCOM (all schools)
LECOM (all schools)
NYITCOM
Touro-NY
ACOM
UIWSOM
AZCOM
TUNCOM
KCU-COM
ATSU-KCOM
DMU-COM
MU-COM

KCU COM is a sugar honey iced tea show with a psycho administration. Just do not go there.
