Hi! Long time lurker seeking advice on my school list for the upcoming cycle. I have a preliminary list, but I'm not sure realistically how many I should apply to or which tier I should shoot for. I'm having trouble choosing targets and I only have one in-state school.

STATS:
Undergraduate Junior
Major: Molecular Biology

GPA
-cGPA 3.94
-sGPA 3.91

MCAT: 518 (130/126/130/132, CARS is definitely my weak link)

Research: 1500+ hours
-Basic science research internship at MD Anderson Cancer Center, presented at national conference
-Clinical research at Children's Hospital Colorado
-Working on honors thesis in my department
-2 publications hopefully in the works by interview season

Extracurricular:
-Teaching assistant for my department
-Sorority president

Hospital volunteer: 300 hours
Non-clinical volunteer: 200 hours
Shadowing: 100+ hours

Residence: CO

My focus is definitely on pediatrics, so I would love to add schools strong in peds if possible.

These are the schools I have so far:

Yale
UPenn
Stanford
Vanderbilt
Duke
Baylor
University of Michigan
UCSF
UCLA
UC San Diego
Keck
Dartmouth
Emory
University of Colorado
Wake Forest
University of Arizona

Thanks in advance! Sorry if I didn't do this post correctly.

You have a good list. Consider adding these schools:
Boston University
Mount Sinai
Einstein
NYU
Miami
Case Western
Pittsburgh

Consider adding in some more mid-tier schools.
UVA
Einstein
Mount Sinai
Dartmouth
Georgetown
UMass

and throw NYU in just because

Add whatever your state schools are if you haven’t already. Stats and ECs are good, but you never know how the cycle is going to go. It could go better than you ever expected or worse than you ever imagined, so best to play it safe. I would also add Jefferson (good mid tier) and cclcm (great peds hospital and research track if you’re interested)
