3 Emails from TULANE

I got three status-update emails from them, each within like 4-5 days of eachother...

They all say that my application is complete and ready for review...but i got it 3 times! Did this happen to anyone else?

the only correspondence I got from them was a rejection letter.

Same thing w/ me... I'm now complete and ready for review, AGAIN, even though they told me I was complete when I called over a month ago...

I said it before and I'll say it again. Tulane needs to get their act together. Their communications is far worse then any other school I have experience with. I know people at the program, and they love it. I'm sure it's a great place to be, but this is ridiculous...

I also got my third one today. There is another thread about this...maybe something like "TULANE STATUS." I don't think it's bad, just inefficient.

Beginning October 26, I've been getting these emails every Friday. So what if they send you a canned update each week. I've been complete at many schools for MONTHS and have yet to hear a peep. If they weren't sending the emails, you tools would be bitching about not hearing anything from Tulane.

wow... let's not start name calling... I would love to get an interview at Tulane. I know people at the program. They all love it and New Orleans is a great city. I'm an in NO WAY trying to imply that Tulane isn't a great place to be. It's just that the broken record approach isn't giving us any new information and makes the admissions office seem unorganized, at least to me. Obviously you are different and that's fine, but I think it is understandable that people get annoyed with these eMails.

Anyways... Best of luck to you and I'm glad that you like their communication approach.

dude chill out. noone here is 'bitching' about anything. we're just concerned as to why we're getting the same email over and over again.

Im sorry you're not hearing a peep out of some schools, but many of us, including me, are in the same position. take it somewhere else.

Every Friday this thread magically appears........

It's just Tulane's way of letting you know that they have all of your stuff and you will get a letter when a decision is made.

I wouldn't put too much stock into it, as it is most likely an automated e-mail that is programmed to go out to every applicant who doesn't have a code by their name indicated an interview offer or rejection.

I got it twice, then on the next Friday- nothing. Received the rejection letter middle of the next week in the mail...

It seems like it is their way of saying that they are still looking at you. If you stop getting the email on Fridays, it is pretty safe to assume that you should be expecting an email interview invite OR a snail rejection letter, most likely before the next Friday update rolls around. Hope you guys fare better than I did!

If that was their plan, it has clearly backfired.

I wouldn't say that I'm anxious but I ended up calling to ask why I was just now receiving a 'complete' email when I had been told I was complete 2 months ago. The repeat email is confusing and unnerving.

Hopefully their medical program is not in as much disarray as their admissions office.

I'm surprised how dense pre-meds can be. No common sense. It's obviously a weekly status check email. And if you were really confused about it, I would have thought you would check their website for information before calling them incompetent.

the email means they haven't looked at your app yet. I got this from the admissions office so i assume its correct. Email stop=rejection or interview

I submitted the secondary on 8/17. I called on 8/30 and was told I was complete, so sometime between then.

I've gotten this e-mail the last 3 weeks as well. But it is not nearly as entertaining as the one I received from AMCAS this week: letting me know they had received my official transcript on 6/7/07. I've been complete for about 5 months now, but the update was nice

Almost as good: the same day I received my rejection letter from Georgetwon they sent me an e-mail requesting I complete their secondary.

It's a crazy process, best you can do is try and keep your sense of humor about it.

I was informed by Tulane that I was going to get an interview yesterday, but I still got the e-mail.

Like I said, it's just an automated e-mail. Until a certain switch is turned off, you are going to keep getting it regardless of your status.

I'm curious about this as well. I was complete two months ago, and all I've gotten thus far is that email every Friday. If I don't hear anything soon, I'm writing a letter of interest (a very much sincere one, Tulane is in my top 3).

And does the email really have to be written in that blood red color? Why not green?

I sent all of my stuff in at the end of August. I applied via the TruMED program which has it's own special ap and process attached to it, so I am not sure if you can really infer much about my timeline.

I was going to say that not getting the email does not mean that you are getting a rejection or interview because I did not get one last friday, 11/9, and I was expecting a rejection letter or interview, but yesterday afternoon, I checked my email and there it was again.
