Since every other score seems to have a thread to chat in I thought I'd start this one. We can discuss our feelings on apllying with the score we obtained. If there is already a thread on this topic let me know.

I got a 32Q and I am happy with it since I was expecting a worse score by far. I am applying to a wide range of schools and I am awaiting the review of my AMCAS.

Whoa, 32Q also. I was certainly satisfied. I'm increasingly surprised at the number of people on here who score 30-32 and want to retake because it wasn't the 35 they'd been hoping for. Good luck in applying!

32Q here also...but terrible distribution (14,7,11). i'll probably retake if this cycle doesn't work out

I would still apply because you might be surprised. what was your GPA

I can't believe people were DISAPPOINTED with a 32. I meen it isn't perfect, but it is still decent.

3.91

32q here also!! hello mcat twins. my break down was 12 bs 11 ps and a whooping 9 verbal

has everyone submitted their amcas yet?

32r(10ps, 11, 11). I'm happy, too. I'm hoping to go to school in Tejas. I'm not quite done with submissions, but really at this point I'm feeling little stress. The mcat score was a huge relief! Good luck to all fellow 32ers (and to everyone else). By the way, I studied my butt off for the grade I got. It amazes me that some people can waltz in without studying or taking practice tests and score in the 30's. I took about 7 practice tests and a PR class!

Wow, I had the same exact breakdown and everything. I think it's kinda annoying to have my most impressive score (looking at the percentiles) being the writing section, since apparently nobody cares about it.

haha im sure a bad score wont do harm but a great score as such will certainly catch their eyes. so will that 13 in verbal 🙂

LOL, add me.... 32P (13,10,9)

Not going to med school though....

that writing score was a shocker; i've written for and was the editor of my school newspaper before....too bad my handwriting looks like its penned by apsychotic mentally handicapped toddler.

sad and depraved thing is that i may actually retake. i was scoring 33-35 on the last 3 aamc practice tests, and i had a horrible cold that day. i'm not complaining though. it's surely going to help my chances of getting in. i'll decide after the aamcas is in. any thoughts?

I got a 32M also, and I think it is because of my handwriting also.

Why are you not going to med school??

I feel that my 32Q (11 10 11) is sufficient to get into at least one med school in the US.

How does everyone else feel about it??

I feel confident. Won't get into any top 20's but that's okay with me. 😀

I just want to stay in California.

Where do you find a list of the rankings of Med Schools?

Haha. Well, I think a T sounds impressive, but my opinion won't get you anywhere. 🙂
Actually, this was my second time taking the MCAT. The first time I got your distribution, but with a Q. I hadn't had biochem or college physics yet, so I thought it made sense to retake. As you can see, I went from a 32Q to a 32R with a slightly more even distribution. 🙄 Apparently, taking science courses damaged my ability to read.

Fellow 32'er here

Why is it that this score seems to be the cut-off for re-takes? I can't say I've ever seen a 33 or + post that they plan to retake, but its pretty common for 32 to say they will.

I realize this score is below average for a handful of schools' matriculants, but at least when I took it a 32 was 86-89th percentile. Generally, it is right at or above the average for matriculants, which should put an applicant in good standing.

I feel like my 32 is sufficient, but I have heard of a few 33+ planing retakes due to uneven distributions.

Plus I would never put myself through that eight hour hell again.

I applied this cycle with a 32 S and a 3.8. I think it's a strong score, but in my "grass is always greener" mentality I think a 33 could have saved me a lot of trouble. I applied to roughly 24 schools and was interviewed at 8, accepted and 3 (mid-tier schools), and waitlisted at 5. I guess that's a fair amount of interviews, but I was rejected post secondary by 16! I worked pretty hard on my secondary essays (esp for BU, Chicago, and Northwestern, those bastards!) and got them in early so it was kindof a surprise not to get interviews at schools like Wake, Albany, VCU, Louisville, etc. But then I also got interviews at schools like Emory, Colorado, Florida and Ohio State. Like they say, it's a crap shoot. I am still waitlisted at the schools I really want to attend, so take that for whatever it's worth.

If you're applying now, make sure to research the schools you apply to. I wish I'd applied to some like MCW, Cinncinati (sp?), Iowa and not to some random reach schools like Brown, Dartmouth, MSSM, AECOM that I really knew nothing about. Definitely apply to all the schools in your state and region. Good luck to ya'll. Representin' Shaq with the 32.

you don't know that!! i have 2 friends w/ scores similar to yours (31 and 32) who got into penn.

Joining your 32 club. It seems that a lot of people with this score had a Q on the essays. Applied this year and still hoping for my 3 waitlists to work out but getting ready to reapply. Applied with a lower MCAT so don't freak out!

Got a 32Q here as well. Getting ready to submit my AMCAS application and keeping my fingers crossed. Good luck to everybody out there! 😀

I agree with notanmd. 32 isn't a top-notch score, but I think it's good enough to compete with the higher scores. Basically, if your gpa, personal statement, letters are good, then the 32 will just keep you in the running, that's how I feel about it. And, that basically applies to all schools, save maybe Harvard, Washington in St. Louis, and Duke. Not stellar, but definitely not bad.

I was unsure about med school, so I decided to take the MCAT just in case..

I decided that going to dental school and working with my relatives would be the best choice for me in the end..

Well I'm happy (11P, 11V, 10B, P), really thought i would do better in bio, scored 3 13's on the last practice exams, oh well. I think a 32 is a great score, I mean granted there are 14% of the people that do better but, thats only 14%. I mean heck I did better than 82% of the people that took this stupid test. And the way i figure, those are some of the smartest people around, well maybe. Anyways I think we should be proud of our 32's, heck we could have scored 30's. And we'll probably get into school for sure, and for people like me wantin to just get in to my state schools, then it should make things alot easier.

Do you have an MDapp I can look at for your EC's. Or maybe just list them. What do you think really got you into Penn??

Well, I got a 32Q (11,10,11)...pretty excited. After the exam, I thought I bombed the verbal...::shrugs:: I also took the August 05 and got a 25Q (9,6,10). Not too happy about that one. So I told myself I was going to study but didn't. Definitely was much more relaxed the 2nd time around, probably helped a bit. I was gong to apply to a couple MD schools and more DOs and originally planned on going to a DO school but am thinking more about allopathic. First choice is OHSU.

Hi y'all - yup, I belong here too. 32 Q with a 10bs, 11vr, and 11ps.
