It's a tough pre-med world out there. I created this thread so we could take strength in one another's experiences and hopefully find schools that cater to people like us. Assuming a good GPA, our success rate is only slightly above 80 percent. Can you believe that?

Please do not fill this thread by bemoaning your woeful plight. This thread is meant to help the people who don't even have as good of chance of getting in med school as a person has of surviving ten years after being treated for Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

Success stories only. This should be an inspirational post.

If you go to MDApplicants.com you can screen applications by GPA, MCAT, undergrad institution, etc. Therefore you can plug in an MCAT range of 33-36 and GPA of some arbitrary range and see all of the interview invites that you could possible wish for. Best of luck to you.

hahahah so you've made a threat specifically for MCAT scores between 33-35

I feel your pain, my life has turned into staring at my inbox getting excited whenever my inbox count moves up one, only to be disappointed by a groupon.

I DO THIS EXACT THING. And then I get really excited when it's an afternoon email because Groupon deals come in the morning so an afternoon email might be an interview--and what happens? It's a Groupon Getaway. Sigh.

I dunno... As worded, the thread title seems to include scores from 33-35, as well as those from 37-45. I think we need to consult the VR wizards at AAMC for a judgment call.

agreed. If It was "which of the following could be inferred"
A. People with 37s may participate
B. People with 38's may not participate

it would be a tough call

LOL seriously we do haha

After 5pm Eastern you think its safe to call it quits on expecting any emails for the day, or do you think schools will send invites after business hours?

I've heard that many interview invite emails come between 10 pm and 5 am, usually with a 6 hour window to accept the invitation before it expires.

Phew good thing I stay up till about 2am every night then. Wait are we talking eastern or pacific?

hhahaha imagine if that's how it worked, you could get an invite at any hour of the day, and you'd only have 30 minutes to respond or you lost it.

Somehow, I imagine very little would change.

Lawdy. If I step away from the computer the unholy rejections will start.

I too am in this pathetic boat... stupid Groupons! That, and Amazon...

OMG Groupon, LivingSocial, BuyWithMe, etcetcetc. To add insult to injury, I recently received an email from a coupon aggregating website letting me know that I was one of their "most active users," INVITING me to their offices for a focus group. Needless to say, that email bypassed my gmail filters, and I totally mistook it for an interview invite!!
