Are any of you already signed up for Comlex PE with a date in Jan, Feb or March of 2008? Just curious if this is why the Comlex PE calender is so completely booked up for earlier testing dates?

Most third years cant probably even register for the PE... Just out of curiousity, what is your question about? 😕

This is one of many unintended (or intended) consequence of increased enrollment and number of medical schools across the board for DO schools. I know that when I started med school, there were only 20 DO schools and about 25-30% fewer students per med school. Now there's like at least an extra 1000-1500 students that need to fit in the mix.

And with all of this brewing, the NBOME still refuse to open up a new site. Never mind the ones who they purposely fail to establish "validity" to their test. Combined with the added requirement of passing the turd for graduation, good luck to you all. May you all be selected to pass the first time and not be another $1000 minimum in debt.

I think they are booked unfortunately. If you look later in the year though and don't see availability they probably just didn't even post the dates on the site yet. I just signed up for COMLEX II CK at conshohocken in July and up until two weeks ago they didn't have the dates for july up yet...

The NBOME will open more testing times/dates when the time comes. This is the same problem we faced this year approaching November of 2007. Our school required us to take the exam by Dec 31 and all dates/times were full. To accomodate the need, they started two a day testing times and opened up more dates. Everyone at my school had the opportunity to take the exam. As a third year, you should not even be worried about this yet. Worry about the CK portion, this gives you a REAL score that can be used to help/hurt you for residency.
