Hey everyone,
I was just curious if anyone knows if med schools will look poorly on or look at you funny when they see that you have attended 4 different 4 yr universities. This happened because i was married to a man in the army and we moved alot, and now just recently ended up in Alaska and divorced. I am staying here, I hate loosing so many credits. Also because of the stress of moving so much and the failing marriage and trying to adjust to being a full time student and a full time single mother, my grades and gpa has suffered. Next semester I have things lined up and I am going to kick butt, but next semester is the end of my junior year. I am not ready to take the mcat or apply until the summer of 2006, so i know that I have 3 semesters and a summer session to improve my gpa... Anyways I was just wondering, any opinion is appreciated! Thank you all!

I don't think they will think any less of you for going to 4 different universities. You have a good reason for switching schools so often. This process is all about putting a positive spin on everything that has happened to you 🙂 Good luck raising your child & taking classes & taking the mcat :luck: It sounds like a lot, but I'm sure you'll do a fine job!

at first the fact that you have been to four different schools WILL raise an eyebrow. but not if you explain it well. and your reasons are perfectly legitamate. i think its really great that you can handle doing so many things. i mean if anything, i think the fact that you've been through so much stressful stuff shows you can definitely handle the challenges/stresses of medical school and you seem like a really determined person, so everythings gonna work out! most schools appreciate you sending a little extra note describing any "special circumstances" that you might want to explain. trust me, i have had to do this too, and they were super nice about it. contrary to popular belief, ad coms are people too !🙂 they read everything you send them. i didnt think theyd care but going to interviews, they have asked me about my tough times and were very sympathetic. good luck girl! :luck:
