I am on 4 waitlists. 3 MD 1 DO I have an MCAT of 505-509 and a cGPA of 3.5-3.7. I have been told by interviewers they loved me and thought I would be a great fit blah blah (now it just seems like a lie 🙁 ). I need people to tell me honestly if I need to start studying for the MCAT again or looking for jobs because IDK! I am stressed about it as a candidate I have tons of shadowing, worked in a hospital, 2 years of research and countless hours of volunteer work. Let me know if you think chances are high or low that I will get in.

About the schools 3 are in state and median MCATs for them are around 506 my one out of state school I am a current undergrad at but their median is about a 513. I just need some opinions about waitlists.

I don’t think anyone can tell you what you want to know. Four WL
out of 4 interviews is discouraging for sure. How did you feel about the interviews? Any idea if these are ranked WLs? Any idea where you are on the list or even how many are on the list? Good luck and be patient. You might not hear for a few months.

I actually had two interviewers respond to my thank you emails telling me I did amazing and they really liked me. I also had a personal friend whose dad knows the person that interviewed me and they said they gave me glowing remarks and were shocked I was put on the wl. I felt great about all of them because I feel that I am a personal person. 3/4 are ranked and they release those to us soon I hope so I will update with any news I have. Thanks for the words I just am really starting to get worried because if I do need to re-take the MCAT I have to sign up for it for June and start re-studying yesterday lol in order to apply early July.

I wouldn't give up hope yet! My friend was actually in a very similar situation last year with similar stats and she got off the waitlist for a school late May! She was very persistent though and was sending updates to the schools that take them and an LOI to the school she was most interested in. I would definitely wait until a few weeks after traffic day (April 30th) to start thinking about reapplying because that's when most of the waitlist movement is going to happen, as it did for my friend. However, I would also maybe suggest start thinking about retaking your MCAT and think about the materials you're going to use and a potential date (sometime mid-June would be my suggestion) for the worst case scenario. I would also suggest doing some research on how much waitlist movement the schools you have been waitlisted for historically have to guesstimate your chances. But have faith and wishing you the best of luck!
