What are some good 4th year electives to take if interested in Radiology? Both in the Radiology field (neurorads vs. pedsrads vs. gen rads) and other fields (surg path, ER, etc.) Thoughts? Ideas? Testimonials?

Elective rotations in surgical subspecialties would be helpful, IE Ortho (for MSK, Neurosurgery/ENT (for neuro), Urology/Gyn onc (for GU), CT surgery (for thoracic) etc. There are a lot of specific questions that the surgical subspecialists look for in evaluating their patients. If you want your report to be clinically relavant, its really helpful if you know what details they are looking for. What do ENTs look for in a sinus CT when they are evaluating for FESS or post-FESS? When do you know that ortho hardware is doing its job vs failing. How do you know the alignment of hardware is optimal? Some of this stuff you can get out of books, but its nice to see where the clinician is coming from.
You have all the time in the world to do radiology after the match, and electives you take after your application is downloaded don't help you match, so I say do anything that interests you which is not radiology-related. Aerospace medicine, anyone?
