4x4 grid for hole punching

Hello fellow SDNers,

I've been searching recently about certain methods to help with the the PAT section - i.e. "wicked PAT tutorial", Hill technique, etc... for the hole punching ppl recommend the 4x4 grid. How does this work? Can anyone explain this to me?

In my own words, draw out a 4x4 grid. Then draw a dark circle where the original hole was punched. Then unfold the paper in your head while tracking where the hole unfolds to. That's really all there is to it. The link above goes into a lot more detail.
