Here are my stats:

32 MCAT: 13PS/7V/12BS
4.0 cGPA, 4.0 sGPA
Major = Physiology
Arizona Resident

I have great EC's: Lots of shadowing, clinical and non-clinical volunteering, plus research. My resume certainly will not be the problem.

Mostly I am concerned about the 7 in Verbal...will this get me screened out of schools?

Thank you in advance!

Are you a native speaker? Maybe one of your LOR is from an English professor who can attest to your abilities? Perhaps some of your ECs or awards can speak for your English ability? Considering how strong the rest of your app seem to be (based on your description), I don't think all MD schools will screen you out. You might not win favors from really selective ones, but I'm sure your PS and secondaries can speak for your writing abilities. Apply broadly and :luck:

I am a native English speaker, I just struggle with verbal for some reason! I had been getting ~9 average on my practice tests but have always just had a rough time with Verbal. Thank you for the good luck 🙂

Some schools will screen you out, but others don't look at specific subscores. I agree it would be helpful to have an English teacher LOR attest to your critical thinking skiills, ability to interpret densely written materials, and verbal abilities.

The only English classes I took were online classes 3 years ago...would it be a dealbreaker not to have one?

Concur strongly with this. Some deans have the attitude that Medicine is another language, and hence, especially if you're not ESL, they might take a pass on you.

Overall, I think you'll be fine. Do a little research and talk to some Admissions deans and see if they'd still be interested in you.

I'd also talk to your school's education specialist to help out with your English test skills.
