Thanks. Do you think dropping by 30 percentile ranks on P/S will hurt me significantly? I went up by 10 percentile ranks for CP CARS and B/B each. I'm debating on quitting the whole premed thing. It's been a real test for me.

It will not matter.
Thank you very much. I have another question re my MCAT scores — am I correct in thinking that they’re used to predict Step1 success and also mastery of science material? I’m wondering if I will have to explain what happened because I really was expecting a 513. My lowest practice score on a new AAMC FL was 513. I’m thinking that test anxiety was an issue which is new to me, and I don’t know how med schools view mental health issues so I’m unsure if I should mention this in my secondaries. I’m planning on getting it addressed (or at least starting the process) very soon. Thank you.

It is just one point to show your science/academic competencies.

@Mr.Smile12 @Faha thank you both for your help! Is it advisable to apply to a few MD schools where my MCAT score matches with their 10th percentile MCAT score, or +/-1 point difference? (So if the 10th percentile MCAT is 507-509).

Right now I have these schools on my list (MD). I do not think I should add any more, but would appreciate any additional feedback on my school list. I suspect UMass, Tufts, Georgetown, and Sidney Kimmel will be donations.
  • MCAT score 2 or more points below 10th percentile = UMass (OOS 10th percentile = 510, IS 10th percentile MCAT = 509)
  • MCAT score at or +/-1 below 10th percentile = Tufts, Georgetown, Sidney Kimmel
  • MCAT score is in between 10-25th percentiles = George Washington Univ, Quinnipiac, Loyola, Geisinger, EVMS, Virginia Tech, Homer Stryker, Wake Forest, Temple, Drexel, Illinois
  • MCAT score is in the 25th percentile = Penn State, Rush, Maryland, Wayne State, Tulane, Oakland,
  • MCAT score is in the 50th percentile or in between 25-50th percentile = Boonshoft, Albany, Med College Wisconsin, NEOMED, Vermont

I am sympathetic with your frustration, but I also want to tell you it's time to move past it.
Don't use up any precious essay space explaining that you were getting better scores on practice tests.
Your comment about the MCAT somewhat predicting Step 1 success is mostly referring to people who score in the 500 zone and doubts about whether they can master the material in med school.

Use @Faha's list - an experienced list-maker who knows what's what.
From your additional proposed schools, NEOMED favors residents of NE Ohio, Illinois is expensive & higher MCAT.
UMass & Tufts can stay on if you are indeed a MA resident - you can only name one state of residence on AMCAS so see what you can determine.
