Hey Guys!

I just found out this morning and I must say that AADSAS has impressed me:

Submitted: 9/15
GPA Verified: 9/28
Mailed: 9/30

Not too shabby AADSAS 😎

Now I'm just waiting from a LOE from a professor 🙁

So for all you 9/30ers keep us posted on your interviews, acceptances and rejections. I hope you're all on predents.

I was 'mailed' today as well. I received e-mails from Colorado and Tennessee right away. What happens now? Will the schools email us with anything they need? Do we need to send additional fess? Anything else?

Depends on the schools. Some schools you'll have to send $$ without further contact (i.e. Pitt). Most schools will eventually contact you by emailing saying they received your app, do a supp, or send $$. There is a pdf on AADSAS for supplemental info that has it all and so do individual web sites. Hope this helps!

hey man be patient, its been 2 weeks, most schools probably havent even processed your application yet. check back beginning of november. it usually takes a month (from all estimates that ive seen and heard of)

I have good shadowing, research, and volunteering hours and have not gotten an interview invite, even from state schools (Illinois).

All I can say is stay patient because it may be a long ride

I'm a Canadian PhD student. I'm applying to schools in Canada, but I have been encouraged to try in the US. Is it too late to try now?

I can only reasonably get my personal essay done in a week or so. In which case i'll be really pushing it for the Dec 1st deadlines for most schools. I'm wondering if its even reasonable to apply this late in the game.

Any feedback, suggestions?

Received a rejected letter from UMKC today. No surprise here but I though I would keep the 9/30 group posted. I have around a 3.6 sGPA and 19AA/19TS. Colorado Resident. 😴

Welcome AudreyPhD! It is getting pretty late and the application process takes at least a month. Even if you were to get everything done in time, because you are so late you will be at a severe disadvantage. Since you've applied to Canadian schools I assume you have the prereqs done. Have you taken the DAT? I'm not sure but I think only a few US schools accept the Canadian DAT. It might be better to apply next cycle. Feel free to get a second opinion. There are a lot of people on here that could give you a better informed opinion. Best of luck!

I'm not on predents. I applied to Colorado. UMKC generally only takes in-state and OOS students that don't have a dental school in their home state. That's why i wasn't surprised. I'm slightly above their average GPA and DAT scores. 😎

Mailed out on 9/16 but counting supp app complete times, they've likely just started reviewing your apps for interview within the last week or two.

I think it is more like 1/3 of the class is filled by mid Dec.

Can anyone give a definitive answer to what % of dschools are filled up be december 1st? 1/3 and 3/5 is a big difference....

Maybe dschools release acceptances that, if ALL were accepted by the applicants would fill up 60% of their class? But maybe only 1/3 of those who receive an acceptance actually end up going to that school?

My aadsas was mailed off 9/23 but received an interview at ECU! Only accepts in-state applicants (NC) so don't know how many others on here applied...Thought I would share tho! I was feeling like I would never hear back. Good luck to all!

At the CO interview they said that they fill 50% of the class Dec 1st (or at least send out that many acceptance letters). If any of the accepted students do not submit the deposit then they mail out more acceptances to fill those holes. They wait to fill the rest until March-April depending on the last interview weekend. Sounds like you still have a good chance even if you have a late interview since last year they interviewed 224 students for a class of 80.

Is OHSU the only school that does that? I havent heard anything like that from any of the other schools.

Rocky90 - It's the only school I've heard of sending a "competitive letter." I think most of the schools send letters saying either you are invited to interview or sorry you are not invited to interview.

Marquette: Not selected for an interview... 👎 I think this group was really late for Marquette. They website says "For optimal consideration, applicants should submit all application materials by September 1." I didn't realize this when I applied....

Continuing review email from Buffalo so I'm thinking its basically a rejection. Also Marquette updated the portal to show essentially the same thing as Buffalo just in different wording haha.

Thats interesting they called me two weeks and scheduled me for late January.

My secondary was in 10/25. But I didn't get an application complete email until 11/11. Despite me calling in to ask about my completion status, they just told me to wait...

One of my top choices! Sad.. all the way to February already.

My application was mailed 10/28. I've been contacted by all of my schools verifying that my secondaries have been received, but nothing more. Have any 10/28 group or other late applicants received interview invites?
My stats are 23 AA/22 TS/20 PAT with a 3.85 sGPA and 3.81 total GPA.

I had a mailing date of 11/11 and have heard from only UMDNJ (they're also one of the few schools who review without first receiving fee). All the other schools basically sent me the "we have your application" e-mail.

I think they must have had a cancellation, they literally offered me the interview a day after they received my application. Even more surprising, the actual interview is scheduled for early Dec.
