A few questions before applying (AMCAS, etc questions)

I have two questions:

- Is the AMCAS GPA recorded as a rounded, three-digit number, a four digit GPA number, or a non-rounded three- or four-digit number?

- Also, if I am doing a summer internship that begins after I submit my AMCAS, can I put it on there, or do med schools not really care about that?

1) AMCAS GPA is rounded to two decimal places.

2) The application doesn't allow one to enter and save a future month for start date. Many Secondaries will give you the opportunity to enter future plans, though.

Thank you. So does that mean there's no difference to med schools between a 3.75 and a 3.79? Also, would it then be smart to submit the AMCAS (still early) after one would start, let's say, a competitive internship?

Two decimal places. So there is a 0.04 GPA difference between the two.

1) They look different to me.

2) An activity that is just begun isn't going to add much to your candidacy. Hopefully, you already have all your ducks in a row without it being considered. It's good to have something substantial to mention in later update letters and during interviews, anyway.

Ok, bringing it up in update letters and interviews make sense.
