Supposedly in India DDS dosen't exist...U can take a BDS Course, and then go for an MDS....What I want to know is, does MDS = DDS?

*Is it possible to start practicing in the US with a BDS from India? (this is considering that all the required exams to practice here for a Foreign Dental Graduate are taken and passed)

hi..even an MDS from India has to go through the advanced standing program to obtain a DDS.

hi, THanks. 🙂

So DDS is like a test to show that knows enough to be a dentist in the US?

I thought DDS = Doctorate in Dental Surgery...or something to that effect.

DDS = BSc + BDS

OR WE CAN SIMPLY SAY,

DDS = BDS.

Anybody who has a foreign dental degree (DDS, DMD, BDS or any other dental diploma) and wants to practice in the US must go through the advance standing program.
