🙁 First time taking it. Took Princeton Review class all summer, very disappointed...

Ok, so my average practice MCAT scores were 30-32, and this is what I ended up getting-
7PS
10BS
11V
28O
I have sent in my primary app but haven't recieved most of my secondaries yet. I applied to pretty average MD schools and need to know my chances of getting in this year, and whether or not I should pay the money for all of my secondaries or should I just wait until next year. My overall GPA is 3.8 and science is a 3.6. If anyone could give me advice that would be great.

13 V, 5 P, 7 B, R. 25 total.

I never, ever studied verbal or writting. I spent all 3 month on the rest. I truely believe that there might be something wrong with my brain.

Hmm, this is interesting. Many people here would kill for your verbal score; 13 is amazing! 👍

How has your performance been in the sciences before the MCAT? Your score almost makes it seem like you haven't had a solid science background, but you are obviously a great critical reader if you can rock a 13 in Verbal.

PS, I am a fellow sub-30er (10 9 10 in April)

8 VS
9 PS
9 BS
S WS

26S

First take....freakishly low score (for me) on the VR. I was murdering VR on old AAMC 3-9, and I'm an English major...I needed VR to push me closer/over 30.

Don't know what I will do now.

Your my score twin except i got a K for the WS. I'm going to have that rescored because I believe that's totally wrong i practiced the WS for 2 weeks before the exam.

I took Kaplan review course and my score range was 18-26 on my practice tests. I was counting on my VR to push me above 30 as well.

Bosox and Spicedmanna, looks like PS is our greatest evil. I hated that d*&n section. I knew it had me when Physics 1 stuff kept showing up and I was praying for just a little bit of magnetism and waves, or hell even optics!

Yeah, Tinker_rebel, you are right on about the PS section. I hated that section so much, too. I almost voided right after that section, but I stuck with it because I already applied. 😡 🙁

Just like you, I was praying for some Physics II material, and/or some actual general chemistry. I just kept seeing all those passages on springs and mechanics, my main weaknesses, and basically freaked. The section was nothing like my practice tests... I never thought it would be so unbalanced. Oh well. All is not lost. I just have to regroup and rethink what to do next.

Good luck with your process! :luck:

I actually did have a pretty solid science background - but I didn't do that well in some of my classes (save physics and ochem), and it was a looooong time ago. And I was really surprised by all of my scores, based on my practice tests. I was generally in the 8 or 9 category for the sciences, and usually 11 on the verbal.

Thanks for the props. I still think there's something wrong with my brain...

took it two aprils ago and got p10 v8 b10 N

this time studied 4 weeks before and got p9 v7 b11 S

did worse than last time, but probably because i didn't study... in the writing section... i had a statement like "government should be allowed to censor?" or something like that. i wrote about a man running down the road with his testicles hanging out. that must've had the readers in a riot.

BS:11
PS:10
VR:6
Total:27M
GPA:4.00
the only bad thing is my verbal score

do you think i can get accepted into university of south florida or the university of miami?

thank you

The most rediculous backwards score (for my history with practice)

PS: 11
VR: 07
BS: 10

so 28 N

PS was always my worst one-- I never broke 10 with Kaplan... but aparently, something went right in Agust...

VR... well that just sucked... but I've never scored that low. I was averaging a 9 and really hoping to get 10.

BS... also screwed up-- I averaged 12 I think i may have misbubbled the last passage because I remember after I finished and was going back through stuff, I noticed two random bubbles that were empty... I don't know.

and writing... oy... I didn't like the topics-- I did pretty dam well during the practice tests.

basically-- taking again because of the distribution. The good thing about the score is my confidence has gone up about physical sciences... I know I can do really well in Bio, and i'm just going to have to really work at the verbal.

I did take it early (i'm a first semester junior now) so I'm going to look into the January and hopefully It won't interfere with deadlines of me getting to my study abroad program.
