I register for classes tomorrow at a notoriously rigorous institution. It will be the beginning of my second year in their program. Upon doing the hour-grind, I found that I will be researching 40+ hours/week (work), and going to classes for a minimum of 15 hours/week. I ate an entire year of straight B's for the 2010-2011 session, so these grades are going to be incredibly important. When I feel overwhelmed by this, I think of my SDN ilk: no doubt some of you are doing the same thing--and more--with families and mortgages and other issues to contend with. It helps me to not feel so alone Keep on keepin' on, you crazy sons of guns. Here's to another year! Good luck!
I can't cut back on the research hours for financial reasons. And, I'm not going to BU, so I'm not entirely certain about that. This year will be different, I got lazy the last go-round (read: didn't go to lecture regularly, did not attend review, didn't read the books) and had to eat the B's. But, this is my last year and I'm super pumped for it. Things will be different, mark my words.
That sounds like a really busy semester. I'm always amazed by the people on here who hold down full-time jobs alongside full-time school schedules. You are amazing!
