In High School I took this class called SUNY Latin and (I think) I received college credit but never transferred it anywhere, just took it in High School and then forgot about it. Do I need to list it?

If so, do I send in my high school transcript or do I have to contact SUNY Albany somehow ...?

If it's not in your college transcript, you won't have to include. But if you got credit through a CC or through the AP/IB system, then yes.

I will have 2 sci lor w/ a physician lor, but does anyone recall off the top of their head which school(s) requires a non sci lor?

If SUNY stands for "State University of New York" or some other university then yes, you will list it on AACOMAS. Contact the university and do whatever you have to do to have the transcript sent.

I got the most exciting results from the question I asked over the phone. My question:
Q: I did a retake of a 4 credit chem + lab class with a class that had a 3 credit lecture and 2 credit lab component. Is this grade replacement? If so, how do I answer it?
A: Enter the 3 point lecture as 4 credit lecture and enter the 2 credit lecture as 1 credits.

This should go over well. -_-

Hate to do this, but is there anyone willing to proof read my ps?

Hi everyone!

I have a kind of confusing question I was hoping to get answered! I called the AACOMAS support line but did not really get a clear answer. So I am enrolled in an online medical terminology course via UNECOM. This class started in April and ends in August and I am going to submit my application before it ends. So I know that this is considered a "Planned/In progress" course, but what do I do about transcripts for this type of thing? I looked in the instructions and I thought it said I did not need a transcript exemption for planned/in progress courses because the system automatically registers that this transcript is not required and the application will still be processed. When I spoke with the guy from AACOMAS he said I needed to call UNECOM and ask them to send a transcript/letter verifying I am enrolled in the class. Does anyone know what I should do?

Leave it as planned/in progress. Once you're done with the course, send them an updated transcript.

I'm planning on submitting a committee letter, but I know some schools require a DO/MD letter on top of the committee letter. However, my undergrad committee strongly recommended that I submit a MD/DO letter so my DO/MD letter will probably be somewhat incorporated into the committee letter. Does this mean schools will waive the requirement to have a DO/MD letter on top of the committee letter?

Also, if I had to fully withdraw from a post bacc program (formal) due to a family emergency, where should I mention this in my application? personal statement? secondaries? I'm just worried because schools will prob see a bunch of W's for the spring semester, and this will probably raise a red flag for sure. I want to be able to explain the situation before they make any judgments.

Thanks!

So should I just disregard what the guy from AACOMAS said?
Yeah not sure why they told you that. I did something similar. Retook classes while application was sent out. Once my courses were complete, I sent them the transcript. Didn't have any problems.

What are your guys putting as "position label" for your shadowing experiences? A shadower? LOL

The reason they asked you to send them a transcript is because you were enrolled in that class before the submission of your application. So, you do need to have a transcript sent to AACOMAS so they can verify it as "Planned/In progress". Once you are done in August, you send the another transcript with your new grade, so they can update that for you.

I didn't think of that. Its a good point. Although I didn't have any problems with my application, I will agree with shim0shim's suggestion. Send them the transcript just to be safe. You don't want to risk delaying the verification process because of a minor detail.

I sent in my transcripts sometime last week. ~how long does it take for them to verify that they received them? I'm getting a little worried that I did something wrong. I just sent them to the address listed. was I supposed to do something special?

About a week or so. If they don't arrive within 2 weeks you should probably request them to send again.

My goodness, the Interfolio is quite confusing for me. I made a dossier... so now I send an email to my writer? And they scan their letter, written on letter head, also specifying my AMCAS ID which I give them, and email it back to interfolio? And then once I do this for all of them, I go on Interfolio and select the destinations I want them sent to? And how do I do that.. I don't see email addresses for most of the individual school's, let alone emails for admissions.. PLEASE HELP!!

Once you are ready to submit letters to schools, click on "start delivery" then type in the school name and it will auto-populate. You then pay your $6.00 to have it submitted to that particular school and will pay that much for each school you send to.

Thank you for the timely response, but I'm still a little clueless on the steps leading up to that point. I am abnormally ignorant with computers, so if you or someone could breakdown the Interfolio process for me as you would a child, it would save my life.

And we do NOT submit letters with our primary, correct? Only if we've been invited to send a secondary application?

And we only send the recommended letters? i.e one from a DO and 2 from professors. is it un-advisable to send more than that?

Multiple schools told me that extra letters can be helpful, but don't overdo it (eg if they ask for three, providing five is fine if they can say something interesting and not redundant, but expecting the committee to read ten is not).

So apparently one of my transcripts was never sent...UGH.

Assuming I submit my application on June 3rd, and my transcript (if sent today) gets to AACOMAS by June 3/4.....I'm guessing I'll be complete around June 24th or so? Does this time table sound right?

Is this still considered early?

Very very early, no worries. They wont even be sending out secondaries for 2-4 more weeks (for most schools).

You cannot submit your application if your transcript is not yet received by AACOMAS.

Have your school overnight it.

Your letter write have to create and account to upload your letter. Once you have the letter, you can send them out as you choose and attach you AACOMAS/AMCAS ID to them.

How do I attach my AACOMAS/AMCAS ID to my outgoing letters? Do I take a screenshot of my account information and upload it as an attachment or what?

So for EC volunteer hours, I did A LOT of random work for a few different organizations but am having trouble getting a hold of the total numbers of hours. Do i just use my best judgement when putting down an amount or is it best to leave it blank? I want to show that I participated in a great deal of volunteer work for these organizations, but dont want to over embellish my numbers nor do I want to under cut them.

So, how early is early enough? Everyone says apply June 3, but does it really make a difference if it's June 5 or June 8 (if you need a few extra days to perfect your PS, etc)? Will the difference of a few days mean that processing of your application will be delayed significantly more, because applications increase exponentially after the 3rd?

If you are unsure just leave it blank. More probably, they will ask you about it during interviews.

No the few days difference will not make your application "late". I would take the extra few days to better your PS and other aspects of the applications. If you apply anytime in June, it is still fairly early.

I will be applying this cycle as well to med schools but I am having difficulty determining how I should arrange my coursework. I was an early admit to college through an honors program that was available. Meaning that, during my senior year of high school I had went off to college but did not graduate until the rest of my class did since I still had to take like 3 classes which were required to graduate and I took those classes in college. Now I don't know where I would put that year worth of work, would it be under high school or college freshmen?

I am having the same difficulty determining this for the AMCAS as well.

If they're on your college transcript then put them in your coursework.

What are you guys using to make your school list? I'm trying to find a list that shows OOS stats, GPA and Mcat averages
Well, I am just seeing whether they consider international applicants or not. I apply to all who do.

Been confused after reading other posts; can you submit app without transcripts received? Does it start verification, or does that wait until transcripts are received?

How are they going to verify your app if they don't have your transcript?
