Honestly, a week isn't that important right now. If it were me, I'd probably contact AACOMAS to unsubmit and add those in there.
Affect your chances?....
Honestly, if you were a borderline applicant and everyone else with similar stats had tons of clinical experience and your application was severely lacking, I'd say YES, it could affect your chances.
However, shadowing isn't the end-all to clinical experience, and clinical experience isn't the end-all towards getting an acceptance, so I'll leave this one up to your discretion to determine how your application stacks up against others' and how willing you are to sacrifice a week, early in the application season.

Yeah I'd have to agree with CB.. it's one thing if you were submitted for 4 weeks and it would essentially put you back a month in the process..but one week? won't make a difference this early in the season... If it were me, I'd take the hit of 1 week in exchange for making sure I didn't short change my app
