It may very well be the wife. You guys don't know.

I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility that members of that residency or potentially even the victim's family could someday see this thread. If I found out my program director had been brutally murdered I guess I would probably want the community reaction to be "sorry to hear that" rather than "maybe his newly widowed wife killed him." It's nice when we all pretend to be human for a few seconds

My condolences to anyone who knew Dr Rogers. I did not.

That being said, law enforcement seems to be holding most details close to the vest as per usual, during the early stages of an investigation. One article I saw said it was a robbery.

Sad.

Very sad.

Met him a few times at AAEM as a med student.

Great guy who helped make the IU EM program what it is today.

The link above is to a reddit post of someone reporting to be the neighbor. Although nothing he said has been verified, his account sounds believable. This is absolutely tragic.

This is why I, and I insist my wife and kids also, lock all our doors even during the day time, in my uppity, gated community. Home alarm on always at night, and daytime, when gone. It’s also why I keep a loaded Sig Sauer 45 in a quick-access fingerprint safe, in a drawer next to my bed.

Here’s another reason. Physician home, gated community, daytime horror-robbery:

“When Horror Came to a Connecticut Family” When Horror Came to a Connecticut Family

Self defense: Learn how to do it. Be ready to do it, when you least expect to need to.

Alarm and lights on all the time, doors locked all the time, and a Glock 19 at the bedside.

Installing cameras next week (Arlo cameras).
