I'm confused about the anatomy of all of this, in particular the difference between A and C . Can someone explain (perhaps in a Magic School bus style)? Pleural cavity houses the lungs?

The peritoneal cavity is the cavity that contains the abdominal organs, so A is the answer. Perineum is something completely different.

It's a distractor. Perineum sounds like peritoneum but if you follow the above link you'll such its [much] different.

Okay, I have a quick question - or maybe just a vent - regarding the AAMC 7 verbal section.

Let me preface my incredulous attitude by saying that I have been consistently scoring 11's on the verbal and my BS and PS are very poor due to the fact that my MCAT studying has had to be crammed into a few weeks because of work/school. Therefore, I've been attempting (in my verbal practicing) to eliminate choosing the wrong answers (duh, lol) as much as possible....no stupid mistakes.

So, anyway - verbal question #21 on AAMC 7 says:

"The author can best be viewed as an advocate of..."
B) an increase in spending on the training of employees
D) the use of computers in industrial production

Now obviously B (the correct answer) seems nice...the passage talks about increasing training and how that can be a good thing, however the entire last two paragraphs talk about how increased training will not necessarily lead to increased jobs paying high wages/requiring high skills (rendering this training useless). Then he talks about how computer jobs tend to require more high-wage, high-skilled employees. Since the solution is to get more of these jobs and increase the US economy (and the type of goods we produce), shouldn't the answer be D? This one just really irks my nerves....

I must admit this (anatomy) question is straightforward. But if remember correctly, anatomy is not tested in the MCAT. Am I wrong?

Okay, I know this is a super old thread-- but I wanted to ask-- it doesn't seem like this material was covered at all in the bio prep materials I've been using... and if I might say so myself, I feel like this question is pretty obscure. Does anyone else feel the same way?
