I just took aamc 8 and I am devasted with my results. PS 10, VB 6, BS 9= 25
My other exams are
aamc
3: PS 10, VB, 9, BS 9=28
4: PS 12, VB 9, BS, 9=30
5: PS 10, VB 10, BS 10=30
7: PS 9, VB 10, BS=8=27

When I started from 3 I noticed a progressive increase in the score following my other tests. Also I typically make many stupid mistakes especially with the 5th aamc I could of potentially had a 12 on PS but its my fault for being inattentive. For aamc 7 I also made many stupid mistakes in both PS and BS but mistakes or no mistakes my aamc 8 score is horrible and my mcat is in about a week and a half. I feel horrible and don't know how to react or what I should do. I feel as If all my hard work is or nothing, my grades are getting progressively worse and I will fall short on the real deal. Should I continue and take aamc 9 10 and 11 and see what happens, and look at 7 and 8 as just bad days or is it better to stop and save 9 10 and 11 and just not take the mcat. The score really shattered my ego and I am depressed and interested in other opinions on this situation.

Can I ask what is the score that you are hoping to get on the real MCAT i.e. your goal

I was shooting originally for around a 32-33 and obviously besides aamc 4 and 5 I am way off.

On #8, it appears as though your big problem was VR. Why? Were you distracted? Tired? Did you have trouble with some of the passages?

Your PS and BS scores look good. A little fluctuation, but that's normal.

Also, do you go over sections when you reach the end? Using every minute you have can help even out some of those fluctuations.

On aamc 8 it was possible that I was tired because I didn't have great sleep and also had a 7 hour class slightly prior to the test but I don't want to use that as an excuse to justify such a low grade.

My PS isn't horrible especially if I can hone in on concentrating and not making stupid mistakes I possibly have the potential for a 12 or 13. BS is slightly harder for me because I know the material but have a slightly hard time applying it to the passage bc it seems more like verbal.

I typically finish PS maybe with a minute or 2 to spare so I usually go over the most recent questions I am not sure about bc I probably will remember them the best. VB I usually finish on the dot maybe with 30 sec to spare at best each time. BS I Usually finish similar to PS and implement a similar strategy as PS unless I marked specific questions I really want to go over.

The fluctuation of scores may indicate that you are strong in some areas, but weak in others. Go over what those weak areas are.

You sound burnt out. Take a break. Watch a movie, hang out with friends, exercise or do something else that you enjoy, then come back to studying.

Its hard to take a break knowing the mcat is 9 days away, and I feel like I know everything well its just especially for Bio I am having a hard time relating the passage to my info, I quite possibly look more forward to the orgo passages rather than bio and I did very well in the bio pre reqs and A&P. I feel like something is missing but I don't know what, but it doesn't seem to be content review.

Thanks everyone for the responses.

I figure il try and get a good amount of sleep, and tomorrow take aamc 9 and post my score up here, so I can have a better idea of what the situation is and so others can get a better idea of what my situation is and what I should do.

Again I wanted to thank everyone for their responses and wanted to give an update.

aamc 9:

PS 11, VB 9, BS 9= 29

I took this test after a little bit of studying and a class I had before, I felt a little fatigue during the test but I mentioned I would take aamc 9 and depending on my results, see were I stand and how I should continue. Judging from these results It is hard for me to judge If I should call it quits and not take the mcat or take it next week. The BS section I feel like I know pretty much everything but I feel I am having a hard time relating the into to the passages, this can be due partially to becoming fatigued every time when I reach this section bc I am tired from the other two sections. Also, I believe I was two questions away from getting the 10 on BS and two questions away from getting the 10 on VB, but that is the way it is.

As mentioned before I don't really know how I should continue. Should I stop and save the rest of the aamc's or should I take the mcat. I would really appreciate an answer from someone else's perspective, other than my own, on how I should continue, especially if someone was in a similar situation as me.

Thanks.
