Any opinions on these? I am using the PS items for some extra last-minute practice. Are these also composed of old MCAT questions, like the AAMC tests? Are these generally considered easier or harder than the real thing, or about the same? I am taking these in a timed format and doing better on them than I did on the past couple of practice tests I took (5R and 6R), at least as far as raw score goes (# correct, of course there is no way to scale it), but I don't want to get too optimistic even though I have been studying PS hard this past week and really need to see some improvement. At the same time, a little optimism wouldn't hurt right about now.

Also, I plan on taking the PS section of AAMC II tomorrow (the only AAMC test I have left), I know that I, II, and even III are considered easier than the test now, but how much easier? If I see a significant improvement, should I completely discount it due to the easier questions, or maybe subtract 1-2 points from my score to get a more realistic picture? I know there is no exact way to calculate this, I'm hoping for answers based on people's experience with the tests.

Any input on the above would be appreciated, and good luck to everyone preparing for the test Sat! I feel like my head is going to explode right about now, I can't wait to relieve the pressure Sat night. 😉

Mistress,

Actually my friend and I were talking about the usefulness of AAMC I-III i personally think they incredibly useful.....the reason why i say is this i wouldnt put too much faith into the scale (very very easy) but the questions are great and i personally think are the same difficutly for IV-VI if i were you i would definitly go through those questions (Just dont take any faith in those scores🙂) i hope this helps post a reply if you need anything else!

Thanks PhatGtDmB. This prompts another question then: would taking the AAMC II PS section and then using the scale for 4R, 5R, and/or 6R that are posted on the e-mcat site to score myself be a better way to assess how I'm doing? I don't think AAMC II even comes with a scale anyway. Also, does anyone have an opinion about the AAMC practice items? Thanks!

hey mistress S:

Do you have #4, 5, or 6 from AAMC? if you don't you could borrow one from me if you want.

Hey indo, thanks so much for offering! I already took 3R, 4R, 5R, and 6R over the past few weeks--paid $80 to get the AAMC online access, then printed them out and took them. I also took AAMC I a long time ago just for assessment purposes, so AAMC II is the only one I have left that I haven't already taken. I'm just kind of desperate to know if my PS is improving, even though I'm a little scared to find out. 🙁 Good luck on Sat!

oh ok. thanks and good luck to you too!
