to people who have experience with this, do you feel the curve or the test is tougher than the real thing or about the same?\

thanks a lot

You really never know, because you never find out how many questions right = your score. There's not a scale put out for the real thing.

However... my April test, I felt fairly underconfident and it seemed to be about my lowest practice scores.

well are people scoring higher on the real one compared to AAMC, or lower?

thanks

Uh... it's sort of all over the place. Half the people score better, half score worse?

I personally scored almost exactly what I thought I'd get on every section, but I also had a lot of friends who did much worse then they thought they would.

In general, I think it is rather comparable... But that is VERY general. Like, you will likely end up plus or minus 3 points from your average test scores.

Again, most people also end up with a wide range on their practice AAMCs. If you're going anywhere from 28 to 38, then it's hard to really predict your scores. My practice test range was within 2 points for 8 practice FLs, and I did exactly in that range.

Practice AAMC curves were set based more or less on the paper exams before. Remember, the CBT practice exams that are available are just truncated versions of the old paper tests. It remains to be seen whether they are accurate indicators of the difficulty of the real CBTs. People seem to have mixed opinions on this.

i found the curve to be pretty comparable (i.e. i got similar scores on aamc and the actual test) but i found the aamc tests to be substantially easier than the actual test. so, don't freak out if it feels harder test day, because your score very well may end up the same.
