About to submit my app, last opinion on list??

Okay, so after seeing the total of price for 12 schools, not to mention secondaries and flights, I am thinking of cutting down my list. Anyone have any suggestions of what to take out or advice? I am an IL resident.

Schools

1. University of Illinois at Chicago
2. Southern Illinois SIU
3. UOP
4. Columbia (stretch)
5. Penn (stretch)
6. Pitt
7. Case Western
8. Buffalo
9. UDM
10. U of Michigan
11. U of Iowa
12. Marquette

Stats
GPA 3.93 DAT TS 22 AA 22 PA 20

good shadowing and volunteer
3 years of research (no publications)

I want to cut down on my list but I feel like this is the average number of schools people apply to.
UIC and SIU are my top choices.

Any advise would be great.

Your GPA and dat are awesome. I don't think Columbia and penn are a stretch. I would take off buffalo.. And any school you are iffy about. I have a feeling you'll hear from your state school quickly. Best of luck!

Penn isnt a stretch and neither is Columbia, def apply to both (for reference I got into Penn with lower stats)

Buffalo doesn't offer anything spectacular in my opinion. In state tuition is great, but probably not compared to your in state options.

If I were you, I'd only apply to UIC and SIU.

I don't want to take such a risk. You never know what can go wrong during the interview...

I think you have a decent chance at all these schools.

I'd apply to all of them to see what they offer in scholarships, maybe nothing, but your stats are good so it gives you more chances to save a lot of money in the long run.

It seems though that a dat of 23 is what they give scholarships for

Your stats are right in line with the averages for Columbia. Is one school going to make or break your wallet?? I'd keep it.

I am thinking of adding two more schools to my list but ones where I am competitive. For Columbia, I would be considered average. Do you have any suggestions to add?

lol, what makes you think I am sitting home all day. Its saturday and I have a day off. Obviously, I would prefer not to waste money. It's also not just primary, but secondary and flights. I am thinking about this overall and I have competitive stats so I may not need to apply to as many schools as some other students.

Keep Penn, take off Columbia. You will easily get into Penn ( if everything goes well). You are slightly below average (23) for Columbia in DAT.

I'd take off Buffalo bc it's super competitive due to cheap tuition.

NYU may be a good addition as well. It's really easy to get into.

I took off Penn because of its tuition. Its 426,559 for 4 years. Its a great school but...
Same for NYU. Thanks for the suggestion! Also, thank you again for the personal statement help!

People are trying to be wise with how they spend their money. I don't see anything wrong with that especially if they have financial hardships and/or have exceptional stats.

Also, how much do you make an hour if you can cover the costs of this list with two days of work? Application fees alone are $2000 for those 12 schools. Someone that makes that much money in two days will have an yearly income of $240,000 after taxes. Many applicants are students coming off college and do not have that kind of luxury that you seem to claim to possess.
