If a prelimin general surgery resident took the absite last year and now matched to a categorcial PGY-1 position this year, will he be grouped with the PGY-1 group or the PGY-2 group ? Thanks

pgy1 (actually R1 is more appropiate) b/c that is his class year

Like all the research residents who are pgy3, pgy-4, ect, they have only done 2 clinical years, and thus still take the junior absite and are lumped with the R2 class
