Accept/Hold at NYCOM

what does accept/hold mean at NYCOM ...that's what admission told me i was under when i called today (why didn't they mail me anything)...and what's the difference between that and the alternate list- i was told the alternate list looked at after the accept/hold list.

what happens if i get in and do not find a place to live in- i live 4 hours away..

do i apply for med schools again? and how can i improve my application

I've been told that "Accept/Hold" is synonomous with waitlisted. I'm in the same boat as you. Just today I sent a letter to the admissions committe. I hope it might improve my chances of getting in. Sit tight and prey.
