Check out Doc Toothache's post but at VCU, the admissions dean told us only <1/3 who were interviewed would be accepted.
Check out the link I just posted (edit)..For an instater: 22% accepted/ 37% interviewed = 60%
Even with this said, I would be willing to bet that those interviwed pre-december would have a greater chance of being accepted, stats collected by the end of the year would be lower overall, due to less seats available and thus an increased competitiveness...I believe it works this way for all schools...At my last interview they even told us that...lower numbers are always attributed to the scramble that ends up happening post december, usually stats of acceptance are higher pre-dec.
For VCU, there were 310 in-state applicants. 111.6 (36%) of those 310 were interviewed. Only 68.2 of those 111.6 who were in-state and interviewed were admitted.
So if you interviewed at VCU and are in-state, you have a 61.11% likelihood of getting admitted.
Thanks! 👍👍

Compliments of Dr. Toothache! love em!
hahaha Did anyone else calculate what their odds of acceptance are based on the percentage of applicants interviewed? Or am I the only that is completely stats paranoid?

Hmm... maybe I'm just interpreting the data wrong but I tried calculating the percentage of in-state interviewee's who get accepted at the University of Detroit Mercy in 2011 and I got some weird numbers.
Based on UDM's data from 2011:
-A total of 341 in-state applicants applied
-37% in-state applicants received interviews = .37 x 341 = ~126
-34% in-state applicants accepted = .34 x 341 = ~116
So the acceptance rate for an in-state student who receives an interview at UDM is... 116/126 = 92%?!? 😱
OR is it 34% OF the in-state applicants who RECEIVED INTERVIEWS get accepted?
That's how I interpreted my numbers yes. OOS acceptance for those invited to interview at Midwestern-IL was 82.5%. IN in state was 45% of interviewees receive acceptance. Helps to ease the nerves looking at the numbers! Hopefully they stay about the same this cycle.
Good luck to all!

It seems too good to be true... Well for my chances at UDM at least.
Ya I'm idiot and interpreted the spreadsheet incorrectly. *Blah* Sorry for any false hope...
Wait what? So is my initial calculation correct or incorrect??
