Accepted.. But should i reapply?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I think everyone can lay off the OP. He's made a decision and it's one we mostly all agree with, which makes it even easier to cut the OP some slack.

Enjoy med school, OP! I'm sure you'll get out of there and become some crazy famous attending at Emory.

Haha we can keep our fingers crossed 😀
Thank you so much.

As of right now I am set to start at WVU in august but I am still on the alternate list at wake forest and will attend wake if they accept me. Fingers crossed. 😳

Thanks so much. You still live in Tampa?! I'm coming down for the week of July 4th. I can't wait.

I agree with the many posts above. Take what you got. You never know if you're going to get another chance to go anywhere.

You're an MD taking the sure thing you have.

Will you be as certain of being an MD taking a chance?

Yeah I'm just musing. I still think its a bit silly to toss an acceptance, however if it is something the OP will regret forever, I don't see the problem with reapplying and citing not being ready for medical school after the first go around or something, assuming he or she is willing to take the associated risks and understands the possible devastating outcome.
I agree with this, but the bigger problem is, why would you regret that FOREVER??? I mean seriously, hopefully this is something you would get over by MS2.

My only question is why did you apply to WVU if you weren't willing to attend?

Actually, that was what I was thinking too. It is one thing to apply broadly, but you also want to apply to someplace that you'd be happy with attending, even if it is your very last choice.

I think this is something that can eventually come and haunt him if he gives it up.

Krisss, like i said earlier in the thread it wasnt that i wouldnt attend WVU.. My financial situation is completely different now compared to my outlook during the application process. Since my WVU acceptance (over 2 months ago) i have looked forward to attending.. its only within the past 2 weeks my circumstances changed dramatically. If u want more info feel free to go back and read my earlier posts.. Forgive me but i've grown quite tired of addressing this type of statement. But thanks for any input!

I haven't been following the thread, but have you tried talking to WVU about your circumstances? Maybe they can help you out financially if you explain your problems and say that you'd like to attend but can't.

I mean it's worth a shot.

Yeah i spoke with them this week. Im hoping for the best.. i spoke with a lady in financial aid and she had me write a pretty substantial email to her about my circumstances and said she would present it and see if i was eligible for any scholarships. It doesnt hurt that they know im holding more than just their acceptance. It gives me a little leverage. But i find out on monday hopefully if i'll get anything.
