Just curious, any of you reading been accepted to any program(s) with a low GRE score? If so,

- What was your score?
- What's your GPA? Both cumulative & pre req.
- What school(s)?

I know it's not exactly what you asked for, but I figured I'd post.... Low pre-req GPA, good GRE, got accepted.

157V. 155Q. 4.0 AW

Cumulative 3.6.
Pre-Req 3.16
Combined Science and Math 3.08

Interviewed at Miami and Nebraska Medical Center
Accepted to Northwestern.
Rejected from Iowa.

Hope this is helpful.

My GRE scores are fairly average but my writing score was very bad.
152V, 156Q, and 3.0AW
Cum GPA: 3.68
Pre-req GPA: 3.61

Got accept to U of Delaware and Radford and declined interviews at Bellarmine, U of Central Florida

I was very worried about my low writing score but I think that as long as you have strong letter of recommendations and a lot of experiences/volunteer hours or ways to make up the weakness from your low GRE scores, I don't think you need to worry too much. My advice is to do a lot of research on different programs and find ones that you may have a shot at.

- 148 V, 158 Q, 4.0 AW
- Overall GPA: 3.51
- PTCAS Pre-req GPA: 3.41
- Accepted: Creighton, Rutgers Newark, Thomas Jefferson
- Interviews: All of the above, Shenandoah University (withdrew), University of New England (withdrew), California State University, Fresno, Elon (withdrew)

* I was nervous applying with my low verbal score but the trick is to look up the school's minimum GRE scores and be strategic when applying. Strong letters of rec and getting involved with lots of extra-curricular activities (PT or non-PT related, as long as you can relate these experiences back on how it will make you a better physician and a better person) really helps set you apart from others. In addition, apply to schools that require interviews because a low GRE or GPA would make you less favorable in a point system.

I hope this was helpful! Best of luck!!

Thanks for everybodys input!

My top two school choices; UW madison and lacrosse, don't require interviews. My third and fourth choice do however.

My GRE is 149 on both sections (written isn't graded yet), but with that score i'm above the minimum requirement for all of my schools, but below the average of said schools. My gpa + pre req gpa is a 3.9, which is above average. I'll have fantastic recommendations, and everything else. Hope that's enough!

3.87 Overall 3.77 Pre Req, 297 Total GRE, 3.0 on writing. Have been accepted to 2 of the 4 schools that I applied to. I had a lot of shadowing hours including working as a PT tech for 9 months at an outpatient and currently assisting as a PT aide in home health for the last 4 months. GRE's aren't everything, its your overall application that matters most.

I have a buddy that got under a 140 on both sections of the GRE and I think a 3.5 or 4 on the writing. He's in a PT school as we speak.
Do you know what school he went too? Thanks in Advance!

Just to follow up on this thread.

I recently was accepted early decision to UW Madison, and I had the 298 combined GRE.

Good luck to all!
