Should I take college physics 1 at a university even though I credit for it and know the material well?

I took intro physics in very well known and decently regarded community college as a major requirement BUT it was years before I was even had concepts of being a premed. I just transferred to a university(never considered a bachelors before my associates) and it transferred as college physics 1. I checked the syllabus and they’re quite literally the same topics.

Does it hurt my chances at any med school since if I don’t retake it at a university? I really have more major priorities, I’m so conflicted. The premed and bio advisors gave me a meh as an answer 😭

Credit is a credit. Depending on the years since you took it (i.e. if more than 10) you may need to retake, but if not you're likely okay

There are a handful of schools that do not accept community college credits for pre-med pre-reqs. You can learn more by buying access to MSAR from AAMC (it is super cheap and pays for itself if you avoid applying to even one school where you don't meet the expectations for admission).

Thanks Lizzie for sharing! I just bought it and realize how helpful it would since I forgot I took have taken 2 semesters of intro bio, gen chem 1, and apparently physics through community college since I hadn’t been accepted to local university yet. Wouldn’t have known about this without you!
