you guys that just took the DAT still finding Achiever a great resource? Everyone praised it so much but I see less about it now I think, is it because it's not so great for the new DAT that we're seeing recently?

How are Achiever solutions? Are they thorough or can you really get by without them? Sometimes topscore solutions aren't complete enough.

thx!

I personally found it a great resource still even though there wasn't any exact question appeared on my test like the other thread mentioned. Questions from Achiever are tough and challenging, but the solutions provided will be detailed enough for you to reason out the right answer, which will likely make you study a lot harder on related subjects from your textbooks and/or other resources you might already have.

The materials and simulators included are definitely worth your time and effort spent.👍

Japin is the person who runs DAT Achiever without a doubt.

Run a search on his past posting and you'll see exactly what I mean. Only posts when it has something to do about DAT Achiever. A person with a little common sense could see through the content of the posts made over the past 6 months that this is certainly the case.

Although one of my friends who took the exam LAST YEAR and used DAT achiever and said it was a valuable tool and saw a few questions appear [cool but isnt this illegal?]..... i ended up buying this as a bday gift for my cousin who actually recently used the achiever this year to prepare her for the test. She stated that it wasn't helpful for hte new style of DAT questions that everyone has been touting about. granted she did say it was good additional practice, she went as far as saying the achiever tests were a bad caliber of your performance on the actual dat test meaning that the achiever wasn't a good predictor of your final score and gave you false sense of INsecurity (although she did thank me for the gift). it seems like both topscore and dat achiever judging by a few posts are becoming outdated, but doesn't rule out that you should'nt use them.

but then again what do i know? In other words, take everything you hear on SDN with a little grain of salt, especially from me or japin. make your own decisions.

I have to agree with this. I found the Achiever to be overrated on this board. For me personally the program is only valuable in the sense of giving extra practice on time management, but the type of questions on the test is completely different from the DAT. I think people will find that their RC and QR scores to be inflated on the Achiever, while the sciences to be slightly deflated. So don't rely too heavily on this tool.

How dare he! Doesn't Japin know that only people from DAT Destroyer are allowed to solicit here? 🙄

so if it's crunch time for me would you suggest not doing acheiver RC cuz it's not as indicative of the real test anyways? It seems like RC is not like what it is on topscore and achiever anyways. I know it's extra practice but I still have kaplan RC too and even got some MCAT stuff to try to do more tone type questions like ppl are saying to expect.
