From Chad's questions:

If the activation energy of a reaction is 50kJ and
ΔH=15kJ, what is the activation energy of the reverse reaction?

A) 35kJ
B) -35kJ
C) 65kJ
D) -65kJ


How do you know the forward reaction is Endothermic? Couldn't it just be 50+15 = 65 (if exothermic)?

You know the forward reaction is endothermic because dH is positive.
 
sorry for bringing up an old question...but shouldn't the answer be negative because we're going in the reverse direction of an endothermic rxn??

delta H would be negative, since it's exothermic, but we're looking for activation energy, which can't be negative
