New here, and Education center was confused when I asked. Im currently a Pilot on Active duty orders, I have a few years left on my contract(initially 8 years), and Im trying to go to medical school. I've enjoyed my time as a pilot and its been great, but I've seen the life I'll live if I make this a career in my current field. I applied to med school in college and decided I wasnt ready/mature enough and thought the military would be good for me. I've learned a lot and still have that passion, is there a way to go to medical school while active duty? I know of the HSPS, and USUHS but I have not seen any options of going to med school under active duty orders. Plus if there is a way would it require a rank reduction? I know with HPSP/UNUHS you start off as a O1 then promote to O2 and are promoted to O3 on completion. Im currently an O3 and also wondering if I would take a pay/rank cut doing so.
