I was a member of an organization that raised money for street youth recreation centers. The organization was based at my university and completely student run. Thus, there are no profs or university staff overseeing our work.

I would put the president or VP as contacts, but to be honest, we worked well together but never really sparked a friendship or anything and I don't really know where to reach these people. Also, they graduated last spring and won't be coming back in the fall, I have no clue where they're headed now.

A couple of my friends worked with me. Is it ok to have one of them as my contact? Further, if I use my friend Bob as my contact and he uses me as his contact, and we applied to the same schools, will this look kind of sketchy??

Adcoms divide the work of reading appies. It is not likely that anyone is going to notice (and less likely that they will care) that you & Bob are one another's contacts. Despite the warnings on sdn, I don't know of anyone who has ever contacted a "contact" to verify an applicant's volunteer activity.
