Hey all and King Tut... these are amazing links... thank you so much for sharing it with us!!! most people know to appreciate it..and Im glad to find this forum different than others..people r really helping ea other here!!

One other question I have...is prelim Exam, MCQ part..really multiple choice or single choice question?? ?? Cos many prep tests are multiple choice and I find those really though!! And about points?- Im wondering whether you get minus points, ie.subtracted for wrong answers or what??

cheers!

Hi Navprax,
Boucher and Cawson are not available in soft copies on the net.
That would need some money to creat soft copies, then you have to take care of copy rights.
cheers
King Tut

hi feba,
from what i saw at the 1000Q-bank they are just single-answer questions. but i don`t know if they changed that. does someone know?

thank u luibisi . i will add some more

pus should be the the result of neutrophil collection and function and cell death, lymphocytes should not be a main part ....................

the question asks for "not "

so I think the answer should be B

thanks for effort . 👍

I will update your info to the first page . btw, does the file on 4share expire?

I found my anwer , anyway thanks

hi all , could you pls have a look here 😎
pls don't delete any single msg unless you make sure the stuff you deleted are useless.
the reason i say this is that I just found one of the useful mails are staying in the trash box 😉

the way gmail format its mails makes it impossible to delete one single reply under the title of one original mail. If you delete a reply , the original will also go into trash . :meanie:

Don't know if you can understand what I say. 🙄 but pls take a look and take care

Hi Drill,
looks like people are just busy doing other things, may be 150 are too many? !!!!
I bet you all will have to finish 500/day when you have no time. Guys as I told you before that chance to review all MCQ's with Drill and others are rare and you wont understand how valuable it is now.
Time is running and you will need each others now or later so do not think you got it all, and discuss it together.
Cheers👍

hey , where are you guys? this week is near finished😎

how is 150 going🙄🙄🙄

busy working, but in the evenings iam doing the first 150Q. will be hard, but doing my best to finish them till sunday.
coffee will help me😀
i think everyone should post on monday his answers to the Q where the answer is different to the previous given one and explain why (& maybe in which book we can find this answer)

and are boucher and cawson really worth it? it sounds like they should be our bible. if i think i should get them as well. can some seniors tell me their opinion ?

Hi guys, sorry for not being activeeeeeeeeeeeeee with the forum. got real busy with kids and guests.🙄 I guess to make this group thing work I should be prepared and should be required to do my fair share. We should not get distracted from its agenda and goals.Above all, the positive attitude that "we can do this together " Drill, and we have clearly decided on the agenda to be accomplished each week would definitely make us stick to our time limits. We have to work collaboratively to resolve any concern raised by group member for this MCQS by this weekend. BUDDIES LETS STAY ON TASK WITH RESPECT TO ITS AGENDA!!!!👍👍🙁

Doubts with 67. I think the ans should be B but really have no idea what it means. plz tell me where to read more about it reference!😕😕

Hi all,

I am appearing for March 2007 exam. Can anybody plz send me MCQ's and last years paper.

i will appreciate your help.

Regards,
Graham

1. For lower premolars, the purpose of inclining the hand piece lingually is to,
A. Avoid buccal pulp horn *
B. Avoid lingual pulp horn
C. Remove unsupported enamel
D. Conserve lingual dentine

I disagree ... If i'm not mistaken, the coronal part of lower premolars (especially the first one) is tilted lingually, compared to the tooth axis ... therefore, if the handpiece isn't inclide lingually during preparation, it would create unsupported enamel on the lingual wall, and excessive removal of healthy tooth material on the buccal one.

I agree with C2H5OH

like i wrote in a previous post, i think as well that its
Q1-->D
"Angulation of the bur at right angles to the occlusal surface helps to avoid undermining the small lingual cusp" Pickard`s manual of operative dentistry page 135

its so calm here! is it because everyone is sitting over the first 150 Q?
i could just 😴, but still have 26 Q to go.
how is everyone else going on?

hi zahnfee, mine not going well. a struggle for me

the answer options are not strictly revised and modified made it even harder for us
🙁

for example, Q69 , I don't understand why lamina dura is radiolucent instead of radiopaque..................

Hi drill.

Yeah, there's a trick in A answer, it's defentely not radiolucent.
So I'd choose B. Because cribriform means piersed with numerus small holes.

Cheers

hi navprax,
i recieved the books from dr honga today....it was pretty straight forward....deposited money in his account on thursday n got the books today(monday)...they r good photocopies...($80 for both including postage)
also got a reply from dentalsupply....they r seeling these books for $100 each so i reckon i got a good bargain!!!!!
can anybody advice me about the study material that dental supply is providing???its around $350 so is it worth it?????
also trying to access the sdnaussie account....has the password changed???

thank you odonta for reply, and many more help 😀

just I think if lamina dura is only a thin white layer on X-ray, it should not be cribriform plate(which means with many holes), if in A answer change the word "radiolucent" into " opaque" , A will be perfect answer.

cheers

i agree (dental secrets: "the lamina aura is the cribiform plate or alveolar bone proper, a layer of compact bone lining the socket. because of its thickness, an x-ray beam passing through it produces a white line around the root on the radiograph."

what`s with the discussion of the first 150 Q? why got it so quiet here?

hi drill, i found this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leukemia helpful. so i would say its answer A.

drill, you seem to be the only one who is still interested in discussing the 1000 Q.
This is quite upsetting. where is the enthusiasm and the activity from all the others who were previously so intersted to join the discussion.
Please just join it!!!

can someone help me with Q13 and 14?

"Dentinal tubules are structures that span the entire thickness of dentin and form as a result of the mechanism of dentin formation. From the outer surface of the dentin to the area nearest the pulp, these tubules follow an S-shaped path. The diameter and density of the tubules are greatest near the pulp.Tapering from the inner to the outermost surface, they have a diameter of 2.5 μm near the pulp, 1.2 μm in the middle of the dentin, and 900 nm at the dentino-enamel junction. Their density is 59,000 to 76,000 per square millimeter near the pulp, whereas the density is only half as much near the enamel. " from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dentin

the question should be detinal tubules / total dentine surfaces , calculation from above data , i got nearly 40%.

I remember there is something written in Studvant's operative dentistry about this ,

answer B "ground section of dentin showing that dentinal tubules bend sharply as they pass into secondary dentin"

D is acceptable if it is asking about scecondary dentin only

check it out from this book 😉good pictures inside p181
