hi drhelos I didn't finish any single one text book before started. I would like to but it was a bit difficult. I think we can always refer to reference while doing MCQs. we still have time to read after we roughly go through MCQs the first time. ( I said "roughly"because for me still there are a lot of unclear Qs and need to read text book regarding these ones ) and we should be able to go through much quicker for a second time targeting the unclear ones.

I know some ppl first categorize mcqs into different dicipline and read. I think it is also a very good revise method.

to Zahnfee, welcome back .
we are targeting up to 600 this week according to 150/week.

although I know still a lot of Qs in the first 600 are unclear. we can always discuss.

drill

hi drill i agree
i feel its reali difficult to go thru texts at this stage ...
anyways drill and all others pl write down all those q aside for which we dont have confirmed answer so that we ll go thru them in the end ...but i guess there are few q for which nw we clearly have correct ans after having a discussion..👍

drill i guess after finishing all 1000 mcqs we better revise the answer doc so that others dont have to struggle ...😱

dr helos and others just dont take tensions ...relax😎 ...things will work out
and remember everyone GOD HELP THOSE WHO HELP THEMSELVES AND OTHERS ....the last bit is my modification:laugh:😀

cheers

I remember I read somewhere about this, the air dries the surface and crown end of dentinal tube, which lowers the pressure of that side of tubule ( I guess similar principle as a capillary tube), so that draws and elongates the odontoblast into tubule.

tnx drill
god bless ya

cheers

1. I guess dentino-enamel junction refer to the narrowest part of apex, where working length should stop at ? what does orifices here refer to?

2. it's like a chemistry question, don't understand why they are testing this, quite weird.
atom mass of sodium 23, fluorine 19
so fluoride ions weight 2.2* 19/(23+19) = 1

I know C is correct.

who can tell me how can I find information regarding A & B

can't find these information anywhere ........

    • A. It achieves 30% of cardiac output with 60 compressions per minute
    • B. It achieves normal blood oxygen levels with 12 reseparations per minute

hi drill

i am attaching this pdf file which does say that 20% is the max cardiac output which can be obtained ..and we know max compression rate is 80/100 per min? with artificial ventilation interpersed with every 5 compression

the second i cudnt find may be someone can help

the correct answer for Q 544 is C-->
"It should be noted that 2.2 mg sodium fluoride contains 1 mg fluoride." The restoration of Teeth T.R. Pitt Ford page 24

Q 538--> B
"A number of studies have clearly shown that the pulpal damage is far greater when the dentine is drilled dry than with waterspray, especially at high bur speeds. Pulpal damage can also occur when a considerable thickness of dentine remains between the cavity and the pulp. This may be explained by the mechanism of the pulpal response. The tubules are fine capillary channels containing, for the most part, tissue fluid. During cavity preparation without coolant, heat is generated by the bur, causing evaporation of water from the open ends of affected tubules. Capillary action draws fluid out of the pulp inti the tubules. If evaporation is rapid, odontoblasts become sucked into the tubules and meachano-receptor nerve fibres become stretched, causing pain. Excess heat may lead to extensive aspiration of odontoblasts into tubules and they may subsequently undergo necrosis." The restoration of Teeth T.R. Pitt Ford page 58

In response to the various questions regarding the thread. SDN terms of service prohibit posting copyrighted material, material protected by non-disclosure agreements, requesting copyrighted material, or any other attempt to circumvent copyright law. While the moderators of this sight are volunteers and don't pretend to be copyright attorneys in any country, we also seek to avoid the attention of copyright holders by ensuring we aren't used haven for those seeking copyright-protected material. Posts that have been deleted have contained one or more of the above described content either as an original post or containing the quote of an original post. I've discussed with Drill the concerns. I'll be double checking some of the deletions to see if some of the requested materials can be reinstated. Please refrain from posting links to pirated material. I've opened the thread again.

Thank you for considering the matters and talking out with Drill. Can we know exactly what we did wrong and what links were voilated? Anyways, good work Drill for bring this thread back.

It appears to have been primarily an interpretation of SDN terms of service (TOS). TOS states that it is okay to post links to copyrighted material as a preference to posting copyrighted material directly with or without citing the source. Without citing is copyright infringement, even citing the material may not be sufficient if the copyright holders authorization to reprint is not obtained and since this is not considered "for educational use" as we are not an educational institution. However, in SDN's case, linking to copyrighted material means linking to the copyright holder's site or to someone's site who has express permission to reprint copyrighted information. Linking to sites that host pirated material or allows you to access pirated material is not allowed. Several links that allowed you to download pirated material have been removed. The ones remaining at least appear to be legitimate holders of original copyright or appear to be sites that have permission of the copyright holder to reprint the copyrighted information. Many of the questions posted may or may not be copyrighted or subject to non-disclosure agreements. The MCQ's, past ADC exam questions may be subject to these. This point is still being looked into. For now, I don't see anything else being removed, and the request to reinstate the last question and referenced answers is being considered. I hope this provides some clarity.

hi dentmumausi,
oet is a very easy exam..in writing subtest they ask u to write a letter of refferal.u are provided with a task and your basic job is to fullfill that task.there should be a link between paras and no gramatical mistakes are allowd.
In speaking subtest you have to speak as dentist with a patient and u r provided a task.u have o fullfil that.u may have to cinvince the patient about some treatment.it does'nt matter if u dont knowe the treatment.u must reason in good english.Do not repeat any thing.

Pls if have the password send it to me.i need saqs.i yhink they are there in the account.my e-mail is:[email protected]

Hi Drill,

I'm proud of you for saving the thread!!!👍

Odonta

oooooooooow i just got today that thread is open
thank you drill!
but now what is our next plan?

good that this thread is re-opened 😉

let's continue with discussion .

As Farmercyst stated, the main concern for our thread

1. those links such as " 4share" or "allislam" etc which direct to copyright violated material . So in the future DO NOT post links for downloading dental books anymore.

2. ADC related questions. because we don't know if a non-disclosure agreement is applied to ADC exam questions(which means the release of exam Qs is illegal ) ,So we'd better be more careful of putting questions on the forum. I think we'd better post "hypothetical" questions here such as in an open question form? suggestions welcome.

I'm leaving for a short holiday , will see you in a week !

cheers

drill 😛

Hi guys,
Today, I gave that OET thingy finally and hopefully is over and done.🙄 I don't want to give that silly thing again. I found the second part of listening a bit difficult and fast about nursing critical care evalution and intervention. Everyone else thought the same that they have shortened that time between each ques. So future candidates do time urself during practice session. Reading part was easy but tricky but u have time to do rechecking and contemplating.
Writing subtest was easy as well..........refering an old patient to endodontist suffering with pain in 35 with rct and composite 5years back but patient insists on immediate removal as she needs to travel in 3days. Ask advice for an management plan in relation to that teeth.
The speaking part which i dreaded the most went well but I did get nervous a bit about the time limit(5min) to finish my consultation in a proper way as I would have done in my own surgery and cover each point on the roleplay card as well.
I had an pericornitis and impacted tooth with swelling and severe pain and patient was after me to remove her teeth immediately as she was really suffering. I suggested the treatment and later removal of impacted tooth by an oral surgeon. She attacked me by saying why I was not good enough to take out the teeth. In my head I felt really mad and wanted to tell her to relax but I remembered Zanhfee/ Nagredy's advice to be really nice at that time.🙂🙂 second roleplay 12yr trauma to front tooth and lip laceration.
I want to use this opportunity to thank all my ADC buddies for all the help and suggestions they showered on me. 😍😍
I just hope I clear all in one shot and can join the group on the question discussion etc.
Cheers👍

Good Job Dentmumaussi!
ThaNx For Your Information

good luck for every one else.....

hi everyone
I agree with dentmumaussi about the listening test.
I got nervous in speaking test. I think practicing on time management is really necessary. my examiner was speaking very fast and although I knew I shouldn't but I began to talk very fast like her which unfortunately resulted in a lot of grammatical mistakes!!!! 🙁
one of the role plays was like dentmumaussi's and the other one was a 7-year- old girl accompanied by her mother, had a little crowding with thumb-sucking. The girl didn't want braces and I had to tell her that these days a lot of children in her age wear them and then refer her to an orthodontist .The mother was concerned about the consultation fee of visiting an specialist. I also had to calm her ( as usual !!)🙂

A question about writing : was it an endo or a re-endo refer? 😕
because in front of RCT in the examination form was "?" sign which I think is written when we are not sure if we are right or not. And radiograph showed two canals and it wasn't talking about root treated canals. am I wrong?

Hi Newcomer to the group, :hardy:
You r a valuable assest to all the ADC buddies.🙂 You can just start posting anything that pops in to your mind. YOu can also just write in details about the experience and difficulty u encountered during preparation time and actually giving the prem 1. 😕 In ur opinion , how much ur previous experience as a dentist mattered giving this Prem ADC. U can tell us the ques u remember that came and u were not sure of the answers etc.

YES WE ALL DEFINITELY NEED EACHOTHER'S HELP ,GUIDANCE , MOTIVATION AND INSPIRATION. AS A MATTER OF FACT WE ARE FREINDS INDEED. 😍😍

Well, I am just wondering where is everyone else Kingtut, Somali, Navprax, Neetanihal previous active members?? I hope things are great at their ends.🙄
We need to start that discussion........Well, maybe I am just confused now and little aimless after OET. I get panicky attacks in the nights when day just go by so fast thinking a long journey still ahead to become a dentist over here.
Well, I then remind myself to think positive.
Cheers👍
