Hi,
I have a vague idea about waterjet spray u mean latest pulsating Oral irrigating device for cleaning, treating perio probs, utilised adjunct to carry out dental procedures such as root canal procedures and other soft tissue operations(excisional).
In my opinion, damage to gingiva occurs in two ways:
1. direct mechanical trauma that is the very high pressure and great velocity of the liquid puncture the gingiva. if kept long enough..thus producing wound.
2. propelling the bacteria into sulcus especially during gingivitis selectivlely if not angled properly...later bacterimia has been considered during the use.
Hope someone will give reason backed by a referrence. I also want to know.

According to me the ans I feel is Euphoria as it is more of a pschological and drug induced state and not a sign of neurological trauma. I might be wrong. According to Clinical Surgery by S das vomiting is sign of recovery from cerebral concussion., Headaches often result from traction to or irritation of the meninges and blood vessels which have pain receptors.

Ques 880 . I think it only hampers early caries activity which haven't crossed over to dentine. Plz let me know any contradiction so I am propelled to search the books for better explanations. I am not bothered as mind is set on this ans A.🙄

This sure is the right answer:

as pit n fissure sealants are contraindicated in case od dentinal caries ..and are given in enamel only caries..and it surely prevents progresion.

In the written exam its not only the pattern..its also the way you write it..it sometimes might occur to you dat why do u need 60 mins to write a reference letter... its not just writng .but the way u summarise the entire letter..and emphasise certain points..its definitely not to test ur dental skills but in the end it has to make sense.frame ur letter accordin to time n dotn go haphazardly mentionin stuff..
for ex: startin with the sequence of history from wen to now...all the details but briefly and obv eng grammar has to be good..
and mentioning certain important lines like the : the radiograph taken on ......( the date) has been enclosed herewith..
in case ur case history includes an x ray..if not ny other beneficial test taken..like biopsies or woteva mention it in this format..plus the date..
but htis is the conclusion part n finally a line or two like: if u have sent the patient only for an opinion then you must wqrite that you will continue the t/t after the advise or any other line suited..and thanks thing in the end..
the summarisation is really important and it varies and cannot be predicted so u got to read ur case thoroughly n ask urself ::🙁why are u referrin the patient..and that will be ur endin lines..)👍
hope this makes any sense..but that was my approach wen i took the test..and i did cross the word limit a bit..and ya make sure ur writing is as clear as water no cuttings or rubber black marks ..(((((((((((keep in mind extra marks for good handwritng)))))))))

Sorry for that but latter I found my answer was UNCORRECT, that's why I changed.
My answer was ‘'A'' but I found agitation is one of the sign of brain trauma. I still search about that.
By the way in my Q'S answer I have EUPHONIA which you choused as EUPHORIA, and little confused which one is correct?
Do you have any idea?

3 convulsions
4 vomitting
5 fluid drainage from orifices (mouth, ear ,nose )
6 severe headache
7irritability or unususal behavior
8 altered sensation /senses(hear, vision,taste etc)
9 pupillary changes
10 lack of coordination
11 stiff neck
these all depend on the extent and what type of injury suffered

now keeping above in mind every option is present except shock ...which we know is ofcourse a pathophysiologic condn resulting in inadequate perfusion ..so my answer is b

I am happy that drill has started this thread & answer discussions.I feel sorry that I didn't clear paper 2 in ADC PART ONE SEP2007.Though I CLEARED PAPER ONE & SAQS I FEEL THAT I SHOULD HAVE CONCENTRATED BETTER ON PAPER 2 SUBJECTS.PLZ WORK HARD & PREPARE WELL WITH CONCENTRATION.PLZ DON'T LEAVE ANY SUBJECT.DO AS MUCH MCQS AS POSSIBLE.IT WILL HELP A LOT,Time doesn't matter.One month of hard work & good concentration while preparing will do.Focus on the main points & analyse each mcqs & appropriate answers.Do your best,God will do the rest.ALL THE BEST

hi, I have got some member's feedback about Adelaide long distance course.
They said it's a waste of money.

don't know anyone of you have heard of this course ( for clinical preparation) , but from their experience , which is very disapointing , don't even go for it.

here are part of their experience :
"...............we all agreed that the course was a waste of money and time .you pay between $5000 to $6000 depending on the permanent status and then for 15 weeks you meet on line every wednesday from 5pm -8 pm to disscus some topics .The lady in charge is ..... she will ask some questions on line and everyone will answer but it is rare that she gives you the right answer at the end of the night and everyone feels confused and frustrated ,and for the final week you all meet in Adelaide .We all thought that we would spend the whole 5 days in the lab but was surprise to find out that only 2 days were lab and the rest was watching videos or talking ...... is a very disrespectful ,arogant ,angry and agitated lady .we had to confront her on the second day as she was out of control and would disrespect everyone for no apparent reason.She would ask if any one had a question?and would make fun of the questions that were asked .
she kept saying that we shouldnt talk about the adc exam ,and when we said thats why we are here she said she didnt know anything about the adc exam ,and in other times she would say if you do this or do that you will not pass the exam .It was all confusing and useless.All other teachers we came in contact with were good but the planning was really bad and the whole 16 weeks could have been fitted in 1 week .W e had to spend money and buy expensive notes and they were not available to everyone as it was the end of the term .This lady didnt give us study notes and when we said we needed them and were happy to pay for them she said she could not arrange it ......All of us on the course have agreed that the treatment was really really poor and some people had spent even more money coming from Pakistan or India and they were furiuos that they had wasted so much money and time on this coures .Please warn the dentists to stay away from the on line Adelaide course as it is absolutly useless .................

Hi! everyone; I had submitted my documents at ADC on 16th of october by DHL dut didnot receive any acnowledgement till date from ADC.Also no one responded to my 3 consecutive e-mails at [email protected].

Today I just got the result ADC PART 1 ,I PASSED.I am so happy..but I am getting worry about how to study for clinicals ..Anyone have any idea about brdiging course running by melbrone hospitals is it worth to join the course??

sonpari ,thanks and for how to pass the ADC part 1 ,I think for mcq you need to study in cawson , boucher ,1000 questions, study and try to find the correct answer, many questions are tricky... for short answer ,I think Odell is the best.
For my passing part 1,I agree with john.thanks for old senoir member like andreas,drill,odonta,...etc👍👍

preparing for adc part one is about :::::


1--handbook of clinical dentistry .( you can buy it from amazon.com )

2--mosbey's review for nbde,part 2 only.( you can buy it from amazon.com )

3--mcq in dentistry( by cowson,you will only find
it in university library,like sydney uni,or
melbourne uni )

4--find any book of pathology,written by R.A. Cawson
and read it.

5--the most important book is :clinical problem solving by ODELL.

6--& do not forget the 1000 mcq bank.....very very important..


most of all...you should have luck on your side.
you must study hard.....
these books are more than enough.
they dont have penalties for every wrong mcq...so answer all
questions.
i think (c grade ) is equivalent to 60 % of answers
so try to answer 48 mcq out of 80 and you will pass,in each paper.
