hi
Do you have Any idia about (Q830) boiling point of acryl?😕

i didn't read book .

googled

"Substance nameAcrylic acidCASR number79-10-7Molecular formulaC3H4O2Synonyms2-Propenoic acid, acrylsyre, acide acrylique acido acrilico, acrylzuur, ethylenecarboxylic acid, vinylformic acid, acroleic acid.Physical properties:
Acrylic acid is a corrosive, colourless liquid with an acrid odour.
Boiling Point:141.0 (°C)
Melting Point:14.0 (°C)
Flash Point:68 (°C) (open cup)
Vapour Density:2.45 (air = 1)
Density:1.0511 at 20 (°C)
Vapour Pressure:3.1 mm Hg at 20 (°C)
Chemical properties:
It is miscible with water, alcohol, ether, benzene, chloroform, and acetone. It polymerizes readily in the presence of oxygen. Exothermic polymerization at room temperature may cause acrylic acid to become explosive if confined. It is sensitive to heat and sunlight. It is normally supplied as the inhibited monomer (inhibited with 200 ppm hydroquinone monomethyl ether), but because of its relatively high freezing point it often partly solidifies and the solid phase (and the vapour) will then be free of the inhibitor which remains in the liquid phase. Even the un-inhibited form may be stored safely below the melting point, but such material will polymerize exothermically at ambient temperature and may accelerate to a violent or explosive state if confined. It is also a fire hazard when exposed to heat or flame. Acrylic acid is incompatible with strong oxidizers, strong bases, strong alkalies and pure nitrogen. It may polymerize (sometimes explosively) on contact with amines, ammonia, oleum and chlorosulfonic acid, iron salts and peroxides. It may corrode iron and steel."

Wish you luck for the next stage 👍

regarding Q 810:

Mosby`s dental dictionary page 551: Hawley retainer:
"a wire and acrylic resin removable appliance designed to stabilize teeth after tooth movement; serves as a basis for tooth movement by providing an anchorage for the wires and rubber dam elastics used in orthodontic tooth movement"

so i would go for option C

wide and quick shifting of teeth is related to pathological drifting of teeth which is basically due to loss of bone due to any pathology the question is asked in a very vague form and from option the most apprpriate option is bone necrosis.

Q832 answer is b hypersensitivity to la is a very rare condition . i have some other mcqs in which answer was injection into vein. if u have noticed that when we inject into vein there is blanching at that place which is reaction to la and blanching is always considered negative thing

Conclusion Although allergy to lignocaine (and the other amide anaesthetic agents used in dentistry) is known to be extremely rare, it continues to be suggested as a cause when adverse reactions to dental injections occur. Psychogenic reactions are the main causes of untoward events, and some can be alarming. A smaller proportion of adverse responses can be attributed to (avoidable) intravascular injections. Adverse reactions can be reduced if injections are administered carefully.
............
Adverse reactions to dental local anaesthetic injections are common, but the majority are transient and may go unnoticed by the dental surgeon. The most frequent causes of significant reactions are psychogenic (driven by anxiety). A smaller number of reactions which cause concern are caused by intravascular injections. Some patients suffer systemic reactions when larger amounts of solution are absorbed into the circulation.
When an adverse event occurs as a result of a dental local anaesthetic injection, the true nature of the problem should be considered carefully. It is important NOT to suggest that an allergic response has occurred when the clinical events are consistent with well-recognised common causes of adverse reactions to dental injections. Most adverse reactions are avoidable with attention to technique.
Allergy to lignocaine and the other amide local anaesthetics used in dentistry is extremely rare. If an acute reaction is strongly suggestive of an allergic response, early referral for thorough investigation is required.

about this question i think the answer is wrong , PDL necrosis is more precise than bone necrosis .

what do you think ?

hi my version does not have option C .

Zahnfee can you send me your version of mcq & A?

drill

hi all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

preparing for adc part one is about :::::

1--handbook of clinical dentistry .( you can buy it from amazon.com )

2--mosbey's review for nbde, part 2 only.( you can buy it from amazon.com )

3--mcq in dentistry( by cowson, you will only find
it in university library, like sydney uni,or
melbourne uni )

4--find any book of pathology, written by R.A. Cawson
and read it.

5--the most important book is :clinical problem solving by ODELL.

6--& do not forget the 1000 mcq bank.....very very important..

most of all...you should have luck on your side.
you must study hard.....
these books are more than enough.
they dont have penalties for every wrong mcq...so answer all
questions.
i think (c grade ) is equivalent to 60 % of answers
so try to answer 48 mcq out of 80 and you will pass,in each paper.

anyway...good luck

if any help is needed..do not hesitate to contact me
john samaha.:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Hi John
Thanks so much for your advice.
I will attent the test in march and I've been studing those books, so I am quite happy that they are the right ones.
I just not sure about the short aswer question: how many? are they clinical or really theorical questions?
Can you tell me about them?

Thanks again 👍
Cheers
Carla

dear dr ...

for the saq...clinical problem solving(odell) is avery good reference.

it is mostly one question about medical emmergency in dental clinic( cpr.anaphylaxis...ect..)

and than 2 questions about clinical work....

like cysts and bonding,and ..etc

soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

john

q818 midline fracture of wat ............well thats vague does it mean frontal third to level of upper teeth................but i do remember reading that fall due to fatigue is common reasons for fracture due great impact ......but i cant recall.....which fracture ..........anyone can help

cheers

hi sonpari and navprax,
i just found this for Q 818: http://www.blackwellpublishing.com/racs2004/abstract.asp?id=16986

i cannot find it in my books, but i remember from university, that its mostly due to fatigue. a condylar neck fracture is often associated with an angle or canine region fracture. because the large massive root of the canine weakens this area. but iam not sure if they are asking for the parasymphyseal fracture as well or just the real midline (symphyseal)fracture.
i agree with sonpary that the q is to vague formulatet. i don`t know which answer i should choose.😕

will u pls explain me fixed moveable bridge and wat are its components?

wat are tensile nodes situated at angle of mandible
